Many of you are probably familiar with Edgar Allen Poe's classic poem "The Raven," in which a scholar slowly descends into madness as the raven ominously and repeatedly utters the word "Nevermore." I would love to see a similar take between Canada and Kumajirou, with Kumajirou saying "Who?" to everything that Canada says.

“Very good America-san,” Japan said evenly, trying to keep his eyes on the taller blond's face and nowhere else. America smiled that bright smile at him, jumping up, grabbing his papers, crumpling a number of them as he shoved them into his briefcase.

“Cool!” he said happily, shoving his chair into place with a screech, “does that mean we're done? Sweet, I'm so hungry, I could kill for a burger, wanna come?” Japan gave a bland smile, the idea of spending time with the younger nation tempting, but the idea of watching him eat a hamburger let alone actually eating one himself outweighed the benefits.

“I am sorry America-san,” he said simply, “I should return to my hotel room and collect my papers and go over my speech for this afternoons meeting,” America shrugged, obviously not put out, flashing another megawatt grin.

“Well, if you change your mind you know where to find me!” he called over his shoulder, exiting the private office. Japan allowed a softer, more personal smile to grace his feature as the other left. He quickly collected his own papers, exiting the room and going down the hall. He reached his room quickly, being only one floor above, but he failed to notice the slim figure following him.

He didn't have any chance of seeing the baseball bat that came at him from behind as he fumbled with his key card.

No one realized Japan was missing until they all met, almost five hours later, for their last meeting of the day. It was, perhaps naturally, South Korea how pointed out the absence, and Germany had allowed himself and China to go check for him.

Suffice to say, once they found him the meeting was canceled. As they all exited the conference room, clustered together, China called for attention. “I have a rental car,” he said, “I can drive four others to the hospital to visit with Honda-dì,” South Korea immediately jumped to, and England followed close behind, stepping towards the older nation.

“Will you be coming Alfred? I know you're both good friends,” England gave him a look that was probably worried, but America shrugged it off, giving a simple smile.

“Of course,” he exclaimed, “who doesn't want to see the hero when they're in hospital? Plus, we need me to find out who did this and bring about some justice.” Several nations rolled their eyes, Taiwan and Hong Kong ignoring him in favour of crowding next to China, speaking quietly to him in Chinese. “Come on people,” America said, ignoring the mutters of the other nations, “let's go! Japan needs us!” Quickly the five nations headed out, those not involved breaking off into small groups or leaving.

The trip to the hospital was short and Japan only having time to see each of the five for five or so minutes before he was needed in surgery. While there, each nation had asked the almost mutilated country who had attacked him, but the exhausted man was unable to identify his attacker, simply stating he did not think it was anyone he knew. After speaking with Hong Kong, who had agreed to go last, Japan was wheeled into surgery, and the five were left in the waiting room.

“Alfred,” England said after maybe an hour into the surgery, “maybe we should head leave, they've already agreed to let five of us visit once he's done, but I'm sure Greece is worried, as is Vietnam no doubt.” America considered this, obviously thinking hard, before assenting, standing up, arching his back, a small pop sounding as his vertebrae realigned.

“Good idea Artie,” he said, “I'll call a cab how 'bout?” Arthur shook his head, standing as well, green eyes tired.

“We'll take the car back and then Greece and whoever else can bring it back,” he said, accepting the keys from China. The two headed out in silence, America obviously thinking. “Japan will be fine lad,” the older nation soothed, giving the keys to America and sliding into the passenger's seat.

America nodded, smiling once again, “oh I know,” he said, “just wondering who could have done it.”

"Are you grumpy because you think this is a bad idea or because it means more collaboration with me?" France asked the British nation he had dragged aside for some privacy amongst all the politicians and journalists.

England crossed his arms, avoiding his eyes. "Or maybe collaborating with you just is a bad idea, full stop."

France snorted. "No, be serious now."

The Brit sighed with the air of world-weariness. "We argue all the time, over the smallest of things. How the hell is this a good idea?"

France shrugged. "Perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. But you know the economical stand-point. We might not have any other choice now. Besides, in this day and age we wouldn't be able to work independently in any case."

"So you think this is a good idea?"

"Let's say... it's a neutral idea," France suggested with a wry grin. "No, I don't know if it'll make a difference, but I don't think it'll be the end of the world either. And, if we are honest with ourselves, we are just two old fools trying to pretend we have any influence in the world anymore. We might as well relax."

England grunted. "Now you are just being cynical. Or over-dramatic, that might be a better word for you. Of course we bloody matter. If not for the world then for ourselves. And maybe we're not the two great world powers anymore but that doesn't mean we don't have any power left."

France couldn't help giving him a small smile. "Oh, how optimistic of you. Are you really the England I know and love?"

"Oh shut up. And for the record, I still think this is a rotten idea. As if I could trust you enough to share my military with you."

"... Don't tell me you agree with the rubbish your newspapers write."

"Not the ridiculous old stuff, obviously, but what about Iraq? And Falkland?"

France huffed. "Now, Malouines doesn't count--"

"Why the hell not?"

"-- And with Irak, I still think you acted far too rashly and we could have at least tried to discuss it more first."

England grumbled. "Well I couldn't let the lad do it all on his own, could I?"

"He's a big boy already, Angleterre, he can--"

The two of them glanced at each other. Then they dug up their respective mobile phones and turned away from each other to answer.

"Hello?"

"Piss off, Ireland!"
"Ta gueule, Belgique."

Both phones where shoved back into their pockets. France coughed. "I think we should go back to our bosses now, right?"

"Y-yeah. Absolutely."

"Ha! There they come! All red and avoiding each others' faces!" Ireland cackled, pointing at the TV.

Belgium laughed. "Yeah, and look at Sarko's smirk. I bet he thinks they were off having a quickie."

"You know," Ireland said, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes, "you're alright. We should hang out more."

"Why not. If you stop insulting my beer."

"Hey, I just said mine was better!"

"That counts as an insult, chérie," Belgium winked.

So, I may be the only one who wants it, but I've really been craving super dominant America. Doesn't neccesarily have to include smut (though it's always a plus); I'd be thrilled with America just using his position as a World Superpower to force other nations into things they don't want to do. Where did all my people go?

During the 17th century Huguenots were persecuted in France which made hundreds of thousands of them flee the country.

In 1685 Prussia issued the Edict of Potsdam, which encouraged oppressed Huguenots to immigrate to his nation by offering them numerous benefits.
Around 1700, a significant proportion of Berlin's population was French-speaking, and the Berlin Huguenots preserved the French language in their church services for nearly a century.

Basically, I want to see times when America, France, and England have been off having fun or doing important things (like being invited to parties/ going out to drink or going to smaller, more personal meetings with other nations). In which Ivan Braginsky is the head of the Russian Mafia and falls in love with charismatic, naive Alfred F. Jones. What I would like to see is them falling in love and Vanya trying to hide his obsessive assassin sister, his life as a part of the mafia, and all of it getting in the way. Alfred is completely unknowing, though at times he suspects something is up, but falling in love with the on-the-surface rich, wonderful, amazing Ivan. Then I'd like to see his reaction to discovering that he is part of the mafia.

- He discovers he's part of the mafia because a rival mafia ::GERMANITALIANMAFIA:: discovers their relationship, kidnaps Alfred, and uses him as leverage for... something. I'm uncreative :P

Bratva means 'brotherhood', a word used for various Russian crime syndicates, like the Solntsevskaya Bratva in Moscow. It seemed like a nifty word for a title, anyway.

Ivan tensed when he heard his bedroom door open. He wasn't on edge because he didn't know who the intruder was. Quite the opposite. It was because he did know, and it creeped him out every time. And not much creeped him out.

Without any sound or warning, slender arms slipped around him. She moved on silent feet; she always did. It went with the job. “Brother...”

Ivan swallowed at the husky way she said that word. “You're back.”

“Yes.” Natalia stepped around him, dark smile marring her otherwise sweet appearance. With her slight figure, long flowing hair, and childish outfit, only those who already knew her would guess her true nature. “I finished what you asked of me.”

A smile spread across Ivan's face. “The snitch?”

“Taken care of.”

“Excellent. Good job, Nata.”

She gave him a pleased, slightly hopeful look.

“I have another job for you.”

“Tell me,” Natalia said promptly.

“From the owner of that gentleman's club. The Dollhouse.”

“The Dollhouse,” she repeated, eyes narrowing and smile dropping into a frown. “That strip club is owned by Mr. Beilschmidt.”

“Yes.”

“You know his brother is with the Italians!” Natalia hissed.

“I know that.” Ivan smirked. “Ludwig is with the Italians. And now his brother owes us a favor...”

“Ahh.” Natalia giggled. “Splendid. All right, who is it?”

“A gang of thugs. They call themselves the East Side Boys. They have apparently been causing trouble in Mr. Beilschmidt's establishment.”

“I see. A mob war, then?”

Ivan snorted. “Hardly. They are merely a gang of young punks. The world would be better off without them.”

“I will see to it.” Quick and silent, as her movements always were, Natalia simultaneously stood on tiptoe and tugged Ivan down by his scarf to kiss him. He suppressed a shudder.

After watching his sister leave, Ivan himself wandered out of his ornate bedroom. He had other things to attend to. He strolled through the vast hallways of his home, locating the men he was searching for seated in the game room playing poker, surrounded by alcohol and music.

“Toris,” Ivan said. “Eduard. You're needed.”

“What is it?” Toris said, tossing his cards aside.

“Go visit Wallingford Cleaners.”

Eduard, fan of cards still held before his face, raised an eyebrow. “Do you need some dry cleaning done?”

Ivan sighed, running a hand through his pale hair. “No. But they are quite late in their payment for our protection.”

“We're on our way.” The pair stood, and Ivan turned to leave. He was pretty sure that was all the business that needed taking care of for the time being. Satisfied, he walked down to the kitchen, to the bar, and poured himself a glass of vodka. The liquid burned its usual path down his throat and he smiled, content.

He had just started in on his second glass when the doorbell rang. Frowning, Ivan set the full glass down. He was the closest to the front door, so he approached it on silent feet and glanced out the peephole. He frowned when he was confronted by the sight of a friendly grin and cardboard box. “Yes?” he said, tugging the door open a crack. “Did somebody order a pizza?”

“Hey,” the delivery boy said, “that's my line, man. Are you Toris?”

“Ah. No.” Ivan noticed the logo on the box. It was an Italian place Toris had grown fond of. Not to mention one of the few Italian joints in town not under their jurisdiction. Ivan patted his pockets. “Come in, let me find my wallet.”

“Sure.” The boy stepped inside, shutting the front door with his foot. Ivan led the way. Uncomfortable with the silence—broken occasionally by the boy's humming—he tried making idle chitchat. “So. You have been in the pizza delivery business long?”

“Nah. Just started recently. It pays okay, though not as much as my night job. I also tend bar at The Hideout.”

“Two jobs.” Hard work was something Ivan could appreciate. The boy looked young, though. Ivan imagined he would look even younger without his glasses. “Do you go to school around here?”
