Any, dub/noncon issues, slave/pet AU deconstruction.
(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 12:02 am (UTC)(link)No onscreen underage, please, ageing up is fine. Could be romantic or platonic. Would rather no canon characters involved are outright villainous, just oblivious - OC villains are cool.
Bonuses;
1) I like England/America or Germany/Italy ship-wise, and just about any combo platonically as long as B's suitably obliviously happy, but leaning to Japan & South Korea, America & South Korea, France & Canada, and I'd love to have Prussia involved somehow.
2) A and B never have sex even if it's shippy and ifwhen B's able to consent - asexual A would be perfect.
3) B's species needs some kind of obvious physical differences from humans, preferably modifications designed to both improve their "primary purpose" and to make them immediately visibly distinguishable. Being smaller and frailer than humans is obvious. Cat ears has been done, maybe something else.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-05 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)I'm going for GerIta as the main couple A/B here. As for the rest, how does OP feel about PruAus, Franada and DenNor as side pairings? PruAus will probably be the secondary pair after GerIta, while the other two will be more in the background.
The Price of Innocence [1/?]
(Anonymous) 2015-02-12 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)The first few parts will be GerIta-centric, but other characters will be coming in later. Be prepared for an ensemble cast, folks!
Till then, read on and I hope you enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------
Damn it. He was never letting Yao convince him to buy anything ever again.
Pausing at the red stop light, Gilbert glanced through his rearview mirror at the figure curled up sleeping in the backseat. He (those people at the facility had called him ‘it’, but that felt wrong in too many ways) would sleep for another three hours at least, they had said, plenty of time for the journey home. They hadn’t even given him any clothes to wear, but Gilbert had dug out a spare blanket he kept in the boot to tuck around the slim youth.
He ran a hand through his choppy pale hair as the light turned green. He wasn’t sure how he felt about this whole thing, but what’s done was done. He cursed the Chinaman in his mind again.
So he did the most logical thing a man in his position could do – dump everything at his brother’s house and skedaddle.
------------------------------
Ludwig tiredly pulled off his shoes as he entered, slipping into more comfortable indoor slippers. The keys went on their hook on the wall, the polished black shoes into the shoe cabinet between his brown leather pair and sneakers. He would have a nice cold beer to relax and then do some light reading before starting on the work he had brought home, the same routine he did every day. Clean, orderly, normal. That was his life, and quite liked to keep it that way.
There were a few items stacked on the table, that hadn’t been there when he left that morning. Huh, Gilbert must have dropped by. Strange that he hadn’t mentioned anything beforehand though. Dropping his briefcase on a chair, he reached out to pick up the book that sat on the top of the pile. It looked like a manual of some sort. Before he even had the chance to glance at the title, a commotion from somewhere deeper in the house demanded his attention.
“Ve!!!”
With that odd cry a figure tore out of the guestroom and latched like a leech onto his left arm. Ludwig froze, just managing to prevent his limp fingers from dropping the book entirely. What was this!? All he could do was gape at the top of the shaking brunette’s head.
The blond was so shell-shocked by the surprise attack that he didn’t realize the presence of his pet German shepherd until moments later, and that her curious sniffing was the source of the strange man’s shaking. He shook his head with a reproving look.
“Sasha, down, girl.”
The large dog obediently settled down on her haunches, but her interested gaze continued to follow the stranger as he tried to hide himself behind Ludwig’s bigger form.
Sasha wasn’t making a fuss beyond that though, so this person probably hadn’t broken in. She was, in fact, reacting much like she would a guest. Meaning that Gilbert must have brought him in. Ludwig futilely tried to dispel the headache that was forming. But it really was hopeless in all cases that involved his elder brother.
He glanced back at the stranger. Innocent big brown eyes stared up at him. Like an overgrown puppy, he thought briefly until more pressing concern chased all else from his mind. The other was standing there stark naked.
“Put on some clothes!!!” he thundered, and regretted it immediately after as the brunette flinched. Sighing, he pulled off his own coat to wrap around the other. It was big enough on the slim man to at least give him some semblance of modesty. The other fingered at the smooth material curiously before sending a beaming smile at him. Puppy, Ludwig instantly thought again.
Ludwig ran a hand through his hair, not caring at this point that the motion mussed up his carefully gelled back locks.
He needed a beer.

I have the story mostly mapped out, but am still trying to smoothen out some kinks with the flow. I'll try my best to get the next part up soon though! Do let me know what you think of it! I'm always open to constructive criticism. :)

“What’s your name?”
The other tilted his head blankly at him. “My name?” he echoed. The German had managed to find some of Gilbert’s old clothes for the brunette to wear for now, his own were much too big. Even then the button-up shirt hung a little loosely over the other’s thinner shoulders. Ludwig’s jacket was still clutched around him like a safety blanket, swathing him like a child wearing his father’s clothes.
Ludwig took another gulp of beer, noting out of the corner of his eye that the other hadn’t touched the cup of apple juice he had placed in front of him.
“Yes, your name. I can’t just keep calling you ‘you’.” Genuinely lost brown eyes made an uncomfortable suspicion settle in his gut. “You don’t have a name?”
“I was told that I would be whatever you choose, Master.”
Ludwig’s brows came together in a frown.
It was wrong. Not just the lack of a name, but the wording of that statement as well. It sounded like it went beyond just a name. It was like he had been told to have no self, no existence to call his own. The worst part was that the other clearly had no idea what was wrong with what he just said.
Ludwig looked at the other again and saw only painfully innocent brown eyes. Puppy. Perhaps it was more appropriate than he initially thought. And that last bit…
“I’m not your master,” was finally all he managed to say.
The smaller man stared at him with wide eyes before that gaze fell to his hands. “Oh.” And that was the saddest utterance Ludwig had ever heard. He felt like the villain in this, even though he technically hadn’t done anything wrong… Right? Damn it all, he was too tired to deal with this.
He knew of these people, even though he had never met one in person before this day. Once his brain had gotten over the shock of a stranger barreling into him in his own home, he had recognized the distinctive curl that stuck out independently from the rest of the other’s hair. It was an odd feature, and he had heard some rumors about its…properties. He had heard that it could manifest in various styles, but that unnatural lock of hair was an unmistakable trait that all of their kind shared.
From what he had heard, there were some who didn’t even consider them people. A species created simply to serve, they called them. One of those elusive elements of society that one simply did not refer to in polite conversation.
The law did not extend its protection to them the same way it did the common folk. He had never given it much thought before, but surely that cannot be right, not after what he had seen so far. The brunette uncomfortably fidgeting in the sofa before him wasn’t like anything he had pieced together in his mind from the jumbled snippets of information he had received. In honesty Ludwig was rather taken aback by how…human he looked and acted, if one disregarded certain inconsistencies.
Still, that piece of knowledge reminded him that the other would not be safe outside of his house, especially not alone.
“Do you – Do you have anywhere to go?” he finally ventured to ask, inwardly pleading for the answer to be yes.
Slim fingers moved listlessly, bunching the worn fabric of his borrowed shirt. The other kept his head bowed submissively. “I suppose…I could go back… If Master is not my master, then…”
Send him back, to whoever it was that hadn’t even given him a name? Ludwig felt a little ill just thinking about it. No, he knew that wasn’t a viable option, not in his mind at least. And he felt equally uncomfortable turning him out to the streets, even though that would in theory be setting the other free. He had a feeling from what the other had displayed so far that he would turn out to quite helpless when it came to surviving on his own, and what was even without the legal concerns. Ludwig let out a quiet sigh.
“If you like…you can stay here,” he offered, at the same time wondering what kind of madness had possessed him. The wide eyed response he got told him it was the right thing to do, however.
“R-Really?” When Ludwig nodded, the brunette’s face burst into a sunny smile. “Thank you, Master!”
“I’m not your master.” The other lapsed back into that genuinely confused expression for moment. Ludwig sighed again. “Call me Ludwig. That’s my name.”
The brunette fumbled over the pronunciation for a while, nose scrunching up in concentration. “Luddy?” he finally said, with that cute little head tilt again, and Ludwig didn’t have the heart to try to correct him.
“That’ll do for now. By the way, that cup of juice is for you. You can drink it.” He stood, brushing imaginary creases from his pants. “I’ll go prepare a room for you.”
Glancing back briefly before moving into the guest room, he caught an expression of surprise and unbridled wonder blossom on the other man’s face as he took a tentative sip of the sweet liquid, then another. Not wanting to think about the implications of that, Ludwig threw himself into the task of straightening out the spare room.
Just what had he gotten into?

A/N: I'm going to be rather busy next week, so the next update may be a little late in coming. But already have it half done, and I promise fluff, so stay tuned!

Ludwig’s eyes snapped open. Reflexes honed by years of surprise attacks (read: pranks) his brother had inflicted on him under the name of “awesome self-defense training” made him pin the intruder down in a firm lock before his brain managed to catch up and remind him that he had a houseguest. A rather touchy feely houseguest, if the evening before was anything to go by.
“V-Ve…”
He sighed, shifting his weight back to release the smaller man. He rubbed his eyes to try to rid them of their bleariness. “What are you doing here?”
Nothing could have prepared him for the soft lips that closed over his. His brain short-circuited from the shock for a good few moments, until hands trailing in very inappropriate directions kicked him back into action. He wrenched the other away from his body, holding him firmly by the shoulders at arm’s length. Doe brown eyes stared at him in confusion.
“Master?”
The warning bells that rang through his head immediately dispelled all notions of sleepiness. Ice pooled in his gut.
“What are you doing?” he said in a steady tone that impressed even himself.
The brunette was naked again, he noticed.
Scheiße.
“I’m here to serve Master.”
The most terrible thing was the tone it was spoken with, as if there was nothing wrong with it. And he had no doubt that in the other’s mind that was exactly the case, that it didn’t bring bile to his throat like it did for Ludwig in more ways than one.
“I’m not your master,” he corrected immediately even as he let loose a string of curses in his mind.
The brunette was silent, still staring at Ludwig as if he was a puzzle he simple couldn’t get. Which was apt, because Ludwig was feeling very much the same way about him.
Brown eyes fell. “Are you angry at me?”
Sighing, he patted the brunette on the head, feeling guilty despite it not really being his fault. “I’m not. But you need to sleep in your own room, okay?”
“Yes, Luddy…”
“I’ll see you in the morning,” he felt the need to reassure at the other’s crestfallen look. “Good night.”
The brunette nodded, looking slightly cheered. “Good night, Luddy…”
------------------------
“Good morning, Luddy!”
If he had been a smaller man, he would have been barreled right over by the force that hit his gut the moment he stepped out of his bedroom. As it was, he merely reeled a little, disorientated.
He couldn’t help patting the brown head that had attached himself to him, arms tight around his torso. “Ah yes, good morning.”
Rubbing his eyes sleepily, he stumbled to the kitchen with the other still clinging to him like a limpet. Needless to say, he hadn’t gotten much sleep after the fiasco last night. It was good that the other seemed to have rested fine, at least.
“What would you like for breakfast?”
“…Anything?”
He had expected as much, really. But he wasn’t about to take that as an answer. Ludwig reached up to open one of the high cabinets. He usually had the same thing every day, but Gilbert liked to keep some things there for when he stayed over. He glanced at the contents.
“There’s cereal, and we have some dried fruit to go with it if you like. Oats too, if you prefer that. There’s also peanut butter and jam that you can spread on the bread. And...maple syrup?” He glanced at the brunette. “Or I can cook wurst?” he offered when his new housemate seemed overwhelmed by the choice. “I’ll be making some for myself too, I can just cook more.”
“Wurst?”
“It’s a type of sausage. Would you like to try it?”
The other nodded, eyes big and curious as he watched Ludwig move around the kitchen collecting the ingredients.
“V-Ve…”
Ludwig blinked as a warm body pressed against his side suddenly, quickly setting down the eggs so that he wouldn’t drop them. Turning, he noticed that Sasha had padded in through the door leading to the backyard where she had been playing previously.
“You don’t have to be afraid. Sasha is very gentle, she won’t bite.”
The other peered apprehensively around Ludwig at the enormous dog. Sasha’s tail swished merrily to and fro as she stared back with a lopsided doggy grin. “That mean she’s happy,” Ludwig told him reassuringly before crouching down slowly, encouraging him to do the same. He held out his hand for Sasha to sniff, and when the smaller man tentatively mirrored his action he drew slightly away to scratch the dog affectionately behind an ear.
The other giggled as Sasha’s tongue flicked out to lick his palm. He edged closer, more daring now, to thread his fingers through her soft fur. The dog’s tail thumped merrily on the floor.
The brunette burst out into giggles as a wet nose nuzzled closer. Ludwig watched the exchange fondly before turning back to continue with breakfast.
“Which reminds me, we still need to choose a name for you,” he commented over his shoulder as the sausages sizzled.
Luminous eyes snapped up to stare at him, hands stilling from where they were delightedly patting the large dog. Sasha whined, nudging his face at the lack of attention.
“Would you like to choose one together?”
The other’s smile could light up the whole room. “Yes!”
Giving a small smile in return, Ludwig picked up a spatula to turn the sausages over before they burned.
The brunette buried his face in Sasha’s neck, still smiling dopily. The dog yipped softly, turning her head to lick his cheek. Barely perceptible over the sizzling of the wurst on the stove, Ludwig still heard the whisper.
“Did you hear that, Sasha? I’m going to have a name.”
---------------------------------
Man, am I going to be grateful when I have a name to refer to Feli by. There's only many times I can write "the brunette" without sounding awfully repetitive. orz
