Seconding what above anon said: it's sort of a miracle you can keep the misunderstanding going in a way that feels organic and not contrived at all.
Also, damn, I really felt for Lovino there, poor sweetheart. Moving out from your country can be very difficult, if you're doing it for job reason and not because you want to, and people often don't realize how much added stress the culture clash can be. You prepare yourself for the big differences - language, transportation system, living arrangements... - but it's the tiny ones that really end up messing with you - your favorite kind of coffee is no longer the default, you never know if the person you're flirting with is flirting back or just being polite, you can't find a hairdresser that understands how you want your hair...- and it all piles up and you end up feeling like you can't get a break.
Honestly, I'm kind of wishing I had some Gilbo myself to get me through all that. I would have been laughing my ass off every time he opened his mouth, at least.

Like, this made me LOL so hard. Traditional relationships according to Gilbert. He's so fun.

I kind of liked that he lets Lovino push him around so easily, even if he fully realizes he's so insecure under his bossiness. It's like he realizes this is what Lovino needs on some level and just goes along with it because deep down he does like him<3
