I'd like to see a mythological AU (feel free to use any pantheon you like, whether it's Greek, Roman, Norse or even some other one) in which God A and God B are expected to marry each other. Their interactions before this decision was made have been minimal/somewhat negative, but a lot is depending on their union, so they realize that they just have to make the best of it. I'd like to see a scenerio in which they start to learn to love each other for real.
Interactions with other pairings/characters are welcome and encouraged, but I'd like the main focus to be either DenmarkxNorway or SwedenxFinland. Thanks!
Hopefully this is the sort of thing OP was interested in. ^^;

Oh Muses! Inspiration, bring! From my lips, stories take wing! Of men, kings, and soldiers of such worth from a time when gods would walk the earth.
Once, in lands now quite old, there was a king who was so bold. With his army behind him, and sword at hand, he conquered his way across the land. Decades passed, until he breached the capital city. Victory was within reach! But pride so strong was this man's sin, and as he and his army stormed in, across the city they razed and fought until they found what they sought -the greatest temple in all the lands created by the most skilled artists' hands!
It was this place he did desecrate and chose to laugh at threats of fate. He searched and searched until he laid eyes upon the temple's greatest prize. Taller than the king, and solid gold was the statue of their god of old.
It was Englandius, the god of tea, who protected their fair city. To that, the marauding king did smirk. Said he, "I see his protection didn't work. If he can use any spell or ward, let him now stay my sword!"
To the god, farewell he bade. With all his strength, he swung his blade! It struck across the statue's breast and scratched away its golden chest. It struck across the statue's breast and scratched across its golden chest. Desperately, the the people across the land gathered around to try their hands. But no craft or trick fixed what was marred. They could not repair their patron god!
In Olympus fair, the gods' home, Englandius was sitting alone. He was sipping tea and crocheting slow when suddenly, he felt the blow!
"Wankers!" he cried, "Who dares deface the statue depicting my noble face? I curse the king who did this deed! May he and that city never be freed! Those proud people think they don't need me? They can think that over for an eternity!"
And so it was, the city in shame banished the king and cursed his name. But alas, the curse still sealed their fate. There was nothing left to do but wait...
Wow, sorry I'm late; I was on vacation. Anyway, thank you for beginning to fill my request. I totally laughed out loud at England whipping out the word "wankers" in the midst of all this poetic language. Can't wait to see where you take this, anon!
In a far-off land, the Muses sing how there once ruled a young, brave king. Finlandicus, as he was named, for many deeds he was famed. For love of adventures he did roam. But rarely was he in his country home! And so some called him the fool For he abandoned his throne and seldom did rule.
Far away in fair Helympus, this was all seem by the great Germaneus, lord of all gods and wurst and beer. Of Finlandicus's vices he did hear.
And so the other gods he sought and asked them what they thought of how best to cure Finlandicus of his never ending wanderlust.
Russes, of war, vodka, and snow, thought a violent quest the king should know. He'd be frightened so he'd wish no more to set foot beyond his palace door.
But his sister, Ukretia, of hearth and tears, felt it cruel to invoke such mortal fears. "A bloodless solution may still work," said she, as she sewed buttons back onto her shirt.
Franos, the love god, saw his chance. "I propose a solution involving romance! These sorts of things, I've seen before, always work best when involving l'amour."
Before long out broke a massive fight, lasting through the day and into the night. The heavens shook! Thunder roared! Ukretia cried and so rain poured!
Intervening and shouting at each one by name, Germaneus sent the gods to their own domain. The king of the gods was at the end of his wits. If he heard one more cross word, he'd go into fits.
But his despair was fortunately fleeting, for there was one god who missed the meeting. Amerese, messenger of Olympus, hurried to Germaneus. "The hero is here!" he did proclaim. "I believe I heard someone call my name?"
Germaneus felt the urge to rub his head, but told Amerese what he missed, instead. Upon hearing it all, Amerese said, "I see! Germaneus, you just leave it to me! To Finlandicus I shall take flight, and quickly make everything right!"
Though there was much Germaneus wanted to say, his head throbbed, so he gave Amerese his way. Left on his own, Ameres thought through the various things he could do. Violence without bloodshed, with love mixed in, he'd use all that so he would win. In little time, he had his plan. But he first needed Finlandicus in a certain land...
As Finlandicus sailed across the sea he traveled with his friends three:
Denmarakles, a warrior brave who wore a grin, no matter how grave a battle looked. He fought on. Many a bard sang his song.
Norwayeus stood on the deck, muttering how they’d surely wreck Could the helmsman pay attention, please? Why’d they give the wheel to Denmarakles?
Finally Icelandeces, with snow-white hair wandered about without a care. Younger brother of Norwayeus, he followed along without much fuss.
Finlandicus smiled at the warriors three, “My friends!” he cried, “This surely shall be the greatest of journeys! May we find the fabled New World, and leave this one behind!”
From above the clouds, Ameres did smile. “Abandon his kingdom? That will take awhile. I’ve got a quest planned, so let’s see what he’ll say. But first, I’ll need him going the other way.”
From those who made the ocean behave and controlled the movement of every wave Ameres would petition for aid. The rest of the trap was already laid. His heroic hour was soon at hand. Time to begin his fantastic plan!
Re: Nordic pairing, mythological AU, arranged marriage
A/N - Sooo, to make up for such slow progress, two updates for the price of one! :D
------
From Helympus, fair and bright, did Ameres go take flight. To the ocean he flew looking for one he knew.
In the sea, the nymphs did play, splashing waves each and every way. Against the water, Ameres fought, searching for the one he sought. The lovely nymph, Vietousa, he knew for long ago, she he once did woo. Though those days had long since passed to her he came and a favor he asked. To him she listened with great care as he recounted everything to the nymph so fair.
“This must be done fast!” said he. “Please, ask your brother to do this for me!”
And so she ran from wave to wave, until she found her brother and gave the message Ameres had her bring. She carefully explained everything of Finlandicus and his duties spurned, and how there was a lesson to be learned. But to do that, he was needed in another land. So could her brother give Ameres a hand?
The brother to whom she spoke scratched his chin and cleared his throat. Said Japideon, god of the sea, “Call our eldest brother to me. Together, we’ll turn every wave in accordance to the orders Ameres gave.”
Vietousa called to the sea, “Big Brother Chineus, come to me! We need your help, in this hour! Come and led us your great power!”
At this, from the water rose, resplendent in his royal clothes: robes of silk and bands of gold, all offerings from days of old. In his regal air nothing lacked, save for the panda carried on his back. Such beauty had he, few could understand if he truly was maid or man.
“Come, aru! Let us begin,” said he. And so they all did turn the sea. Finlandicus’s ship rocked and pitched. ‘Til some wondered if it’d been bewitched. The waves tossed about so angrily, thanks to the efforts of the three. Finally, the ship at last reached the coast Ameres asked.
Having seen their task through, Japideon, Chineus, and Vietousa too, vanished ‘neath the waves of which they played. And for the rest of this tale, that’s where they stayed.
an update! I'm rolling around by bed while I'm all giddy clutching my phone author! anon I am once again left wanting more. your style for this fill is so easy to digest and I'm enjoying it so much I find myself reading it out as I go

Re: Nordic pairing, mythological AU, arranged marriage
This anon here, delurking now, is dancing like a maddened cow! if true it is she can not rhyme other arts she can do just fine: for that, she promises in future times to bring you a drawing, of the lines of old 80's fantasy cover arts (you now the ones--garish as tarts) and later on, let me this tell a podfic from the core of hell which is already recorded, yet not quite good (microphones are more expensive than food...) So now she flutters into anonimity once more but this shall be her state--"Nevermore"
So pleased is Auth!Anon To hear such joy is going on. And for her part, promised well, This fic's next part, she soon shall tell. So keep reading of Finlandicus and his events, And keep enjoying it all, dear ladies and gents! :D
