The American nodded, breaking into a smile. He wrapped his free arm around Arthur’s shoulder. “I’ve asked myself to and back, but in the end, I think I’m attracted to dudes.”
Arthur just nodded demurely. Everything that scared him faded away.
“It’s actually a really tough thing to admit this sort of stuff, yannoe? Some people are delusional, and think it’s normal and painless to admit, or even realize…” Alfred said.
“Tough acceptance…?”
“It wasn’t me, per se. I mean I have family too….it’s just, I hate when people start to think differently of you.”
Arthur knew this wasn’t the happy-go-lucky boy Alfred was 90% of the time. He felt bad asking, but he pushed it. “…Does this have anything to do with you transferring mid-year.”
Alfred shrugged.
“But no matter what, it’s kind of cool here. People are cool.” He smiled at Arthur, and dropped is arm. “C’mon, I’m feeling for a cheeseburger.”
