Wow, this came faster than I expected! :D I like the set-up, but the "everyone could tell" trope is not exactly what I'd had in mind; I was thinking more that they were distant enough with each other (at least in public) that when they referred to each other as boyfriends, the usual response was something like, "Oh, really? I thought..." hence where a lot of Alfred's discomfort/annoyance comes from. I don't terribly mind the tweak, though. My only other criticism is that it's kinda hard to read when the paragraphs are squished together; maybe space them out a bit? Anyway, still enjoying this so far and looking forward to more.
Oh, I'm sorry! I figured that they would have tried not to make it obvious, but my personal HC for Ludwig at least is that he's terribly at keeping secrets and has a bad poker face. Though now I think that adding more secrecy to it would have improved it and made Al more uncomfortable. Times like these I wish it were possible to go back and edit anonymous comments. Oh well! I'll format the next chapter so it's easier to read. I'm glad you like it so far :)
Hehe, that's actually more or less my headcanon as well, but I also see Ludwig as being kinda hard to read since he expresses himself somewhat poorly. I guess what I was thinking was that since Feliciano has always been all over Ludwig and Ludwig has allowed it, people mostly assumed they were an item. And then Ludwig maybe acts kind of weird around Alfred, but of course everyone thinks he has a boyfriend already and that's not how he acts around him so the reason for the weirdness doesn't click until it's explained. Then in cases where they're being sized up by strangers or whatever, Ludwig is so much more at ease with PDA from Feli than Al that the more common conclusion is that Ludwig and Feli are a couple and Alfred is a friend. So not exactly a secret relationship, but one that (to Alfred's dismay) flies under the radar? If I'm making any sense? XD
But like I said, I don't mind the situation you've set up. It just threw me off for a moment since it wan't what I expected :)
