[6 February Monday 18:33] – [6 February Monday 23:33] America goes to the refrigerator for some ice-cream but remembered that he ran out. He reminds himself to get more tomorrow. He goes back to the living room and sits on the couch, watching television.
[6 February Monday 18:47] – [6 February Monday 23:47] America sees an advertisement for customised teddy bears. He thinks those are cute and knows England likes cute things, even if the guy tries deny it. He pulls out the Notes application in his iPhone and brought up a new note:

[6 February Monday 18:48] – [6 February Monday 23:48] America sees an advertisement for MacDonald's. He pulls out the application again and brings up the note from before, adding:
Choice of restaurant for v day Mickey ds
[6 February Monday 19:43] – [7 February Tuesday 00:43] The pizza delivery guy arrives on America's doorstep. America is elated.
[6 February Monday 20:26] – [7 February Tuesday 01:26] America finishes his pizza and decides to call Japan to ask for ideas on how to win England's heart. The guy always has some great ideas. Japan picks up, being formal as usual. America jumps right into his main purpose for calling and asks Japan what are some of the things he would give to someone special. Japan chuckles and says that it depends on the target's personality and asks if America would be able to give some specifics of the person's personality so he could form a good answer. America describes the person to be a bit of an old man, grouchy, perverted and a bad drunk. Japan smiles knowingly to himself and suggests that America gives England some chocolates. America flusters and mentions that he had said nothing about England at all! Japan chuckles, apologises for his mistake and wishes America a good night. America wishes Japan the same, forgetting that it was morning there, and hastily notes Japan's suggestion into his iPhone. Hong Kong, who was hiding in a corner of Japan's house, overhears the conversation.
[6 February Monday 21:38] – [7 February Tuesday 02:38] America calls Canada to get more ideas. He asks Canada he would ask someone to be his Valentine. Canada supposes he would write a love letter. America thinks that's boring. Canada thinks he should shut up. America pouts.
[6 February Monday 22:12] – [7 February Tuesday 03:12] Hong Kong calls America and suggests that he should like, get some fireworks to declare his undying love for the old man. America pretends to not know what he is talking about and secretly wondered how he found out about his ultra-secret plan.
[6 February Monday 22:36] – [7 February Tuesday 03:36] America ponders a bit on the fireworks idea.
[6 February Monday 22:37] – [7 February Tuesday 03:37] America dismisses the idea. He was pretty sure England dislikes noises, seeing that almost whenever he talks, he either becomes extra grouchy or tells him to shut up.
[6 February Monday 22:38] – [7 February Tuesday 03:38] America decides to get some fireworks after all. It was far too awesome an idea and besides, who doesn't like fireworks?

Call me soppy but this is just too cute. <3 Valentine's fics are perfect for any time of year.
I love your characterisation. Not overblown, but subtly them. It's so America, just waking up one morning and realising he likes someone because the television brought on some kind of epiphany. I like the sort of diary format to it also, it works well.
Matchmaker!Canada is adorable, almost as much as long-suffering!Canada. I'm somewhat surprised Japan gave a fairly normal answer, but it's a good surprise - and I half-suspected Hong Kong to report back to England there, but the firework suggestion is clearly more productive. <3
And I'm also now wondering if England is as oblivious as he first seemed to be... Surely the flowers would be a clue? Aside from their unfortunate connotations, nevertheless. I wonder America's rant to 'France' consisted of, that might've been a giveaway.

This is a wonderful request and a brilliant fill. I think you've managed to capture America and England perfectly. I think having both times is a good idea and some things make a lot more sense (like why England was so annoyed with America calling him).
