The Italies have appeared! Ok, here I go with the notes, in order:
1. About fem!Veneziano's personality, in the only published strip featuring Nyotalia characters I found she's shown to have a very strong personality that's almost nothing like Veneziano's, also, Himaruya said that the female versions have their own personalities, they're not just genderbent versions. I decided to use that because I thought it'd be fun, and because I know some Italian women who'd prefer that kind of personality for a character about their country. I still tried to give her some characteristics from the normal character, though.
2. fem!Romano's personality? I don't what personality Himaruya will give her, so I went for normal Romano, but brave. It's inspired by a friend's grandmother who's from South Italy. Seriously, that woman will probably survive us all through sheer willpower.
3. Yes, I genderbent grandpa Rome.
4. Toño is the nickname usually given to Antonios.
5. "Las Tomatitos" would mean something like "the little tomatoes". The name uses a female pronoun ("las") for a male subject ("tomatitos"), which is how the Vargas know it's not named after real tomatoes, but after them.
6. "Apuesto a que te dicen 'Gil." Translation: "I bet they call you 'Gil'." I admit I wrote this entire chapter thinking about how to include that line. "Gil" sounds a bit like "hill" (with a softer L at the end) and is an adjective in Spanish that's used to describe people who are considered simple, dumb, slow and/or stupid. It's not really from Spain, it's more common in Argentina and Uruguay, but I figured Lovina would be willing to use words from other countries just to deliver an insult.
7. "En serio, ¿tú eres idiota o qué?" = "Seriously, are you an idiot or what?"
8. Polenta. It's a kind of food that's very common in Italy. I can't describe it well, but Wikipedia provides an explanation of what it is, just don't look at the picture because it makes it look mysterious. I've eaten polenta and it's very good. Now, why polenta and not pasta? Because, as much as I love Hetalia, it failed in the gastronomy section for North Italy. Pasta is very common in the country, but it's eaten mostly in the South (in some places, they always give you some kind of pasta before lunch, as an entry). They do eat pasta in the North, but their specialty is polenta , and since this is an AU, I figured I could try to fix that tiny little mistake here. I hope you don't mind.

I don't have words for how much I love this! Fem!Veneziano is perfect, and I love the fact that you followed Himaruya's idea about the Nyotalia versions having their own personalities. I can see a lot of normal Veneziano in her, but at the same time she's clearly her own character. I adore her to bits! The same actually goes for Lovina; she was wonderful and well-rounded and just so amazing.
In fact, everything in this is amazing. I love your Gilbert and how he can be arrogant without having to say that out loud in every piece of dialogue that leaves his mouth and how he still has a vulnerable side. I love the bar and the atmosphere you painted.
Everything about this story, the premise and especially the characterization is just brilliant! I can hardly wait for more.

I love this! Lovina is so intriguing and I can't wait to find out more about her. I can't help but wonder if she has or had feelings for Antonio since she was so eager to help him out with the bar. I'm kind of curious about that and if the woman from the chocolate shop (Belgium, I assume) is going to show up in the story. Keep up the super fantastic work, anon!!
