Dear lord. Not FANNY PACKS. Abominations. They make you look like a tourist or just completely fashion-hopeless.
The metric system is a lot easier to use in Science because it's easier to convert between different units with it but it is pretty confusing at first, especially if you have no visual for how big the units actually are. I don't really know what stones are either, tho isn't it 14 pounds to every stone?
If I remember correctly, in Britain they used to drive on the right side too and they used to have the same measurement system as us, but the rest of Europe didn't so they eventually gave in and followed suit. We have yet to give in but it's entirely possible we will eventually switch to the metric system. Maybe.
Uh, I don't know why you got the idea that cricket is like baseball because it really isn't. I don't really know the rules, but you stick little wire hoops (called gate) into the ground and then hit a little wooden ball with a wooden mallet to try and get it through the gates. It's more like miniature golf then baseball, really.

American!anon again! Blah. I'm hopelessly bad at measurements. And it was my teacher who said baseball and cricket were similar. I honestly had no clue, but thanks for the clarification.

Anon, you're thinking of croquet, cricket actually IS like baseball except I think you have to bounce the ball on the ground when pitching to the batter (whose bat looks like a paddle) ...........

They drive on the right in europe. So it's just Britain. And Australia. I'm not sure why they kept it up, but I know there's this old tradition of knights riding on the left so their swords aren't pointing at people. All horsey things are done from the left, also mostly because you carry your weapon on the left leg.
As for measurements, they use a mixture of the metric and their older systems. Metric is more professional, i suppose. People are just set in their ways.
