I mean... this is set up very well. Your depiction of the characters involved is very nice. I particularly like the inclusion of Canada's sort-of-family. Russia's motive is skin-crawling, vaguely appealing, and rings appropriate. I also like your choice of language throughout - you don't mince words, and it adds to the fine edge you've put on this tone.
