AU-ish. What if all the nations were as strong as America when calling on their power as nations? What if the leaders of the world found this out and saw an opportunity to use this to end all war as we know it? Major conflicts are no longer solved with armies but by making nations fight each other to the "death" in an arena, televised for the world to see. Unlike humans nations can sustain abnormal damage before "dying" so these fights don't always end quickly or cleanly and the world tunes in to watch in nationalistic fervor for these events.
Using the quote isn't necessary but anon would love to see how this affects relationships and how nations who themselves aren't "fighters" have been forced to adapt.
I just started posting a story that is pretty much EXACTLY this over in Past-Part 7. It's listed as anything goes, but seriously. This request could be the summary so far.
