“Is England crazy?” China said. New Zealand was one of China’s friends, and their countries traded freely with each other. “I don’t like this, but at least he didn’t target Hong Kong.”

“Crazy with power.” France said. “I think being Professor Austria’s favourite is going to his head.”

“What’s the real problem here?” Russia said. “New Zealand has a heart crystal, we need heart crystals to achieve our goal. He gives up his life and everyone wins, da?”

“No, they don’t!” America said. “Besides, why is England Professor Austria’s favourite? Shouldn’t an awesome hero like me be his favourite?!”

“I-it’s better not to be his favourite, Al.” Canada said. “Remember what happened to Hungary?”

“Yeah, yeah, the Sailor Nations killed her, I know.” America said, and started eating a burger that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. A second later, he spat out the mouthful. "Maple? Why is there maple syrup in this burger?!"

"Mmmm, maple." Canada said, and took the burger out of America's hand. "I guess you won't mind me eating this one."

“OK, Professor.” England said in the background. “Bye.”

He hung up the phone and walked back over to the others with a determined look in his eyes. It was clear that he planned to go through with whatever he was plotting after talking to the Professor.

“We go after the target today.” England said. “Professor Austria approves of the plan, and I’ll need everyone’s help to pull this job off perfectly.”

“All right.” France said, and everyone except China voiced their agreement. China stared at the five of them. How could they all agree to a plan without knowing the plan in advance? The whole thing was madness, and the maddest of all was the one planning the whole thing. Finally, England turned to him.

“He's your classmate so we can’t do this without you, China.” England said. “You're closest to him, and can follow his movements. Are you in?”

“Fine.” China said. “I’m in.”

"Professor?" England said. He entered Professor Austria's lab, and looked around for his boss. He walked past a couple of bookshelves, a piano, and finally entered the main work area of the lab. "Professor?"

"England!" Austria appeared holding two bowls of... possibly soup? "What can I do for you?"

"I was wondering if the monster was ready for this afternoon... is that soup?"

"Yes, yes it's soup." Austria put the bowls down on a nearby table. "The monster is ready as well. Would you like to take it away now?"

"Why do you need two bowls of soup?" England said. Professor Austria and him were the only ones in the lab and England wasn't staying for long. Why did he have two bowls?

"I always make myself two bowls when I have soup." Austria said. "One bowl is hotter than the other so I don't have to go back for seconds when I'm working on a project."

"I guess that makes some sort of sense..." England said. He could see that one bowl seemed to have more steam rising from it than the other, so maybe Austria was being honest. "Does the monster look like him?"

"Yes, it does." Austria said. "You gave me plenty of reference material of him and the extras. I used three daimon eggs on this, so your target had better be perfect! I'd hate to waste eggs on a heart crystal that isn't suitable for our goal, England."

"Thank you, Professor," England said as Austria handed him a briefcase.

"Don't open that until you need it." Austria said. "The last thing we need is two of them roaming the halls of the Academy. One is difficult enough to handle at times."

"I won't, Professor." England said, and pulled out his cellphone. "I'll go let France know that he can implement the first part of the plan."

Austria watched England leave the lab, and waited until he heard the door click behind him. He walked a bit until he could see the way to the door, and saw that England wasn't there. He turned around, and picked up the bowls of soup. They were a little colder than he would've liked, but he wasn't worried about it. He walked over to a wall that was clear of objects, and pushed on one spot of the wall. The wall slid aside to reveal a small room that looked mostly normal aside from the fact that one wall was made of glass. It had a small table in front of it, and Austria put one of the bowls on it.

He walked up to the glass wall, and looked through it. On the other side was another room with a bed inside it. A girl with long brown hair was sleeping in the bed, and was being tended to by a lab assistant. Austria ate his soup and watched the assistant work.

"Oh, Hungary." Austria said to himself. She shouldn't have been dragged into this mess, but when she found out what he was trying to achieve she insisted on helping him out. He should've been more firm, but he couldn't resist those green eyes glaring at him to back down and let her help back even before they were an Empire, and he couldn't resist them now. It had all turned to custard when those Sailor Nations got involved, but things were about to change. He had the Allies on his side now, and they usually ended up being the winning side, right?

(A/N: Please ignore the chapter numbering fail up there. ^^; I also don't normally write a lot of the nations that are appearing in this story, so I hope they're turning out okay. :))

"All right, Angleterre, thank you for letting me know."

France snapped his cellphone shut. At last England had given him the all-clear to put the plan in action, but by now it was lunchtime and he had no clue where to find Australia in the school grounds. The cafeteria? The library? No, probably not the library. France left the main building and walked down to the playing fields. A lot of the nations gathered here during breaks for training and friendly matches in various sports. He saw a number of nations including Australia and New Zealand playing what looked like rugby on one of the fields. He also noticed a fair bit of equipment on the sideline: plastic cones, a small pile of extra rugby balls with a bag next to them, some hula hoops, and other equipment which may or may not be useful.

"Oh!" He said to himself. Why didn't he think of the sports field sooner? He stopped for a moment to watch the other nations play. He could instantly tell which nations played regularly and which didn't by their style of play and level of skill. He noted the running, the tackling, and the smooth skillful movements of the nations who played regularly, but he could also see the clearly improving skills of the nations who didn't normally play as well.

He watched as the players passed the ball cleanly to their teammates, players falling to the ground as they were tackled by other players with even more piling on top of them to try to get the ball, and the speed of the ones that managed to get away from the rest to score a try. Of course France played the game as well but for a change he got to watch instead of being out on the field. He decided that he was going to enjoy the view for as long as he could, and what a view it was!

The game eventually finished leaving just Australia and New Zealand deep in conversation on the sidelines. They were picking up the rugby balls and putting them back in the bag, and gathering up the plastic cones and other training equipment they'd gotten from the sports storage. France walked past the other players who were returning to the main building, and went down to the playing field.

"Good afternoon!" The two nations stopped what they were doing and looked at him. Australia's koala was sitting on New Zealand's sheep, and they were looking at him too. France didn't mind the sheep, but the koala made him feel a little nervous. Something about those black eyes made him feel like the koala was staring into his soul and France gulped. "Um."

"Um what?" Australia grinned at him. "Come on France, level with us. Were we so great out there that you're totally lost for words?"

"No!" France said, not wanting to admit that Australia's koala made him nervous.

"Are you trying to tell us our school team sucks?" Australia's grin vanished, and he seemed to deflate a little. New Zealand glared at France and patted his brother's back in sympathy.

"And after all the time we've put into training the team too!" New Zealand said. He and Australia had been coaching the school team for weeks in preparation for the upcoming exhibition match against Central High School, and France could see that their efforts were clearly paying off just by looking at the nations who were new to the game.

"No, no, of course not!" France said quickly. "Is all this training for tomorrow's match?"

"Yeah!" New Zealand said. "Everyone's really pulling together as a team so tomorrow's exhibition match against Central High School should go well."

"Glad to hear it!" France said, and the warning bell rang.

"Five minutes left." New Zealand said. "We'd better get this stuff back to the sports storage."

"Why are you down here anyway?" Australia picked up the plastic cones, and slung the bag of rugby balls over his shoulder. "Shouldn't you be following Arthur around like a lapdog or something, Mr. Vice-President?"

"I actually came down here to talk to you, Australie." France glared at him. "And no, I am not nor have I ever been Angleterre's lapdog."

"All right." Australia said. "You can grab the rest of the equipment and we'll talk on the way to the storeroom. Zea, could you cover for me at roll call if I don't get there in time?"

"Sweet as," New Zealand said, and walked towards the main building with the sheep and koala following him. "See you in class bro!"

France bent down and gathered up the rest of the equipment: plastic stands for goalkicking practice, hula hoops which he guessed was for some kind of agility thing, and a couple of other items, and then he stood up.

"Shall we go, Australie? Australie..." France said, and noticed that Australia was still staring at his brother's back. France stepped in front of Australia, and snapped his fingers. "Australia!"

"Huh?" Australia shook his head. "Sorry mate, my mind must've wandered off for a moment."

"You know, the two of you aren't blood siblings," France said, and re-arranged the stuff he was carrying. "So what's stopping you from asking Nouvelle-Zélande out?"

"It's complicated." Australia said, and they started walking towards the old building. "What was it you wanted to talk about anyway? Open Day?"

France noticed the instant change of subject, and decided to dig a bit more instead. Surely the nation of love could sort out an issue like this! What could possibly be keeping Australia from finding love? He and New Zealand were like each other's shadows a lot of the time, so what's the problem here?

"We can talk about that any time." France said. By now they were coming up to the old building which used to be used for classes, but now is used for storage. "Now I'm curious about you and Nouvelle-Zélande. You clearly like him, and he clearly likes you or he wouldn't spend so much time with you. What's the problem?"

"I'd rather not explain." Australia said as they entered the old building. Clearly the direct approach wasn't working, so France decided he had to try something else. He looked left and right, and saw no one in the corridor. No one had followed them here so he didn't have to worry about looking behind them. The main door closed quietly behind them. France stepped in front of Australia again, and the younger nation nearly bumped into him. "What the hell, France? Why'd you stop walking?"

"Love Buster!" France said, and blew Australia a kiss. He hadn't used his magic before, so he wasn't quite sure about how it worked. A red heart appeared in front of him and flew towards Australia. The heart smacked him in the face, then popped and showered Australia with magic from head to toe. A dopey grin appeared on Australia's face, and he dropped the sports equipment he was holding. The bag of rugby balls fell open, and they rolled down the corridor. Australia stepped forward and pulled France into a hug. France also dropped all of the sports equipment he was holding as he was grabbed by Australia, and the markers and hula hoops fell to the floor with a clatter.

"Come on love," Australia said, and pulled France in even closer. "Give us a kiss!"

"W-w-whaat!" France said, and tried to get out of the hug. He struggled, and tried not to let Australia kiss him. "A-australie, I don't like you that way!"

"But I like you that way!" Australia said, and held France even more tightly. France struggled a little more, then stomped on Australia's left foot with as much weight as he could. Australia let France go, grabbed his foot, and began hopping up and down. "Ow! What the fuck was that for?"

France ran down the corridor hoping to find somewhere he could either escape from Australia, or better still a storeroom where he could hide Australia until their plans were complete. He could hear him cursing the hula hoops off in the distance and France silently thanked them for buying him time. Ordinarily he wouldn't mind being seduced by a random nation but this didn't feel right.

"Found one!" France said softly as he skidded to a stop in front of a storeroom door. He grabbed the key from the hook next to the door and opened it. The room was completely empty. Perfect. He could hear Australia's footsteps getting closer and knew he didn't have much time. "Australie mon cher, I'm in here!"

France hid behind the door of the storeroom as the footsteps got louder still and hoped he wouldn't look behind the door. He tried to breathe more quietly. He hoped Australia wouldn't hear him or he'd never get away.

"France?" Australia said as he reached the storeroom. France stayed behind the door and remained silent. He hoped Australia would enter the storeroom to look for him. "France my love, where are you?"

Australia's last sentence sounded like it had a slight echo so France peeked around the storeroom door. Australia was standing just inside the storeroom doorway, and was reaching for the light switch. France pushed the door and quickly slammed it shut behind Australia. He locked it and immediately heard Australia banging on the door.

"Let me out! Open the fucking door and let me out now, France!" Australia said.

"Not until you calm down, mon cher." France said, and pocketed the key. Mon dieu, that was a close one. "And say the magic word."

"But, but we're meant to be!" Australia kept banging on the door. "How could you do this to me, France?"

"It's for your own good, mon cher." France said, and Australia stopped banging on the door. He pressed his ear to the door and listened. What was the noise he was hearing on the other side? Sniffling? That didn't work for England, and wasn't going to work for him.

"Locking me in a small room is for my own good?" Australia said softly. "All I wanted was to be with you, France. I wanted to wake up next to you every morning and fall asleep next to you every night, but I can see you don't feel the same way. Please let me out of this room, and I'll never speak of it again."

"No." France said, and Australia started banging on the door and swearing again. He didn't think enough time had passed for the spell to wear off, and he was right. He walked back down the corridor towards the main door, and the sound of Australia's voice began to fade. He hoped all of this would be worth it, and just before he got to the main door he heard another voice.

"Australia and France are a couple! What a scoop for my column, da ze!"

France groaned. Great, the school newspaper's gossip columnist had heard him and Australia. He looked around the immediate area, and saw something out of place between two lockers. He thrust his hand into the space and pulled out a very scared-looking Korea.

"Fancy seeing you here, Corée. Why aren't you in class?"

"France! Do you have a com- aughh!" Korea said as France slammed him against a locker.

"If you publish that I will kill you." France said. Korea's eyes widened and the face in his ahoge looked scared. "There is nothing going on between me and Australie, understand?"

"I understand, da ze." Korea said and France let him go. He watched Korea run out the door, and wondered if he should've used a Love Buster spell on him too.

"If I did that he'd probably hump my leg." France muttered and picked up all of the sport equipment he and Australia had dropped in the foyer. He took it down to the sports storeroom and handed it in to the girl behind the desk. She informed him that there would be a fine for late return of the gear and France nodded. He checked his cellphone and saw that he had nearly missed a whole period of class, and decided to be early for his last class of the day instead.

He walked out of the old building and into the afternoon sunlight. France took his time returning to the main building, and made sure to avoid the part of the school building where Australia and Korea's class was. He entered the foyer of the main building just before the bell rang.

Heheheheheh
