Kill 'em damn Soviets [7/?]

(Anonymous) 2010-08-25 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Author!Anon would like to express her utmost gratitude to all those readers who put with her unrevised and unedited rough draft of the story. She is thinking that once this is done, she will edit it and make it much more bearable and post it up on ff.net for those who want to read it.]

Glancing up from the bloodied and disemboweled bodies around him, Alfred couldn't help but feel that this was turning out to be a very good day. Sometimes, Alfred needed a little ego-boosting, a little reassurance, that, yes indeed, he was the hero. It's not like he ever forgot it (that would be un-American!) but, you know, heroic acts here and there always helped America reaffirm his true status as, of course, a hero.

So what if a few Soviets had to die to save his American men? Those KGB officers were more than likely hit men, arms and drug dealers, and other unmentionables. As compared to his honorable America men who were only invading the Soviet Union to spare the population from anymore of the horrors created by the Soviet regime. America believed, despite the fact that this was a movie, that a capitalist and conservative society was truly the new path for this country.

Jogging over to the director, Alfred flashed a grin and ran a hand through his hair (Nantucket would never stay down, goddamn it). "So, what didja think of my performance, dude? Pretty hero-like, huh?" He figured that since the director had picked him for the role, they must already be pretty tight. Then again, Alfred figured he was tight with pretty much everyone of his citizens; he was a likable guy after all, right?

"Of course! No one plays this role better than you, Alfred!" Technically, the director was still telling the truth... so he didn't see the harm in not providing all the information about the role... Furthermore, if he had told the Mr.Jones... well, he wouldn't have had quite the same... charisma, would he?

America just grinned goofily again and waved as left to go over to wardrobe to get changed for the next scene.

"Well, Mr. Braginiski, you should probably get into wardrobe too."

Russia just smiled and nodded.

"Well, Mr. Braginiski, you should probably get into wardrobe too."

Sounds like America may need a change of pants himself when he finally figures this one out! And yeah, not in the fun way. OTL

Oh man, I love how Alfred doesn't suspect a thing! Still, even if he's unknowingly playing a giant heartless killing machine with no mercy to communists...he's still going to get his fair share of fans who love psycho monsters, so it's a win-win, really! Except for the part where he scares everyone off...

Is Russia gonna 'die' in the movie? It must kill him to loss to America...

I keep thinking that afterwards he will be pissed and sue that he was giving such an unheroic role buuut...it be scary if he flashes that winning smile and is still like 'buuut in reality I'd do that over again since in RL we'd invade for the greater good!'

I'd be amused if Alfred playing the villain manages to give Ivan a flash back to the Mongol Empire thanks to his acting.

"You can't think that you're playing a villain, or you'll end up with a cartoon. You have to think about him as a person and a hero."

Filming was wrapping up pretty soon, America was glad, all he wanted to do was go to McDonald's buy a Big Mac (or two... or three) and crash on the couch and play some video games. Hey, even heroes needed a break now and then!

He had just gotten out of wardrobe and was heading over to the "bunker" for the final filming of the day. He wondered idly if he was going to be avenging anymore of his fallen comrades (holy shit, didn't commies use terms like that?) like he had been for most of the scenes he had shot so far; it wasn't like he minded, cause, you know, multiple acts of heroism during a day are always welcomed but... at the same time, he liked variety too!

Cause he was now a professional actor and pros can't always be doing intense action scenes all the time. There was another key element that he was missing from the things that totally made a pro actor legit...

Right!

He had to hook a hot chick too!

The American was so damn sure that when he walked through the doors of the bunker to start filming he was going to see a hot, busty blonde Russian chick waiting for him to come "save" him, that when he a saw a very big and not-female Russian in what looked like ragged peasant's clothing...

Russia himself.

What the fuck?

Alfred totally disregarded that fact that they were already in the process of filming another scene at that precise moment and choose to yell:

"What the hell? Where's my hot, blonde Russian?"

Russia just kind of smiled eerily at him, wondering if the stupid American understood the implications of what he just said.

Snorts and giggles were heard from sound technicians, camera crew, lighting guys, stage managers, and actors.

America backpeddled, "Of the female variety!"

Russia just smirked; it amused him to no end to see the stupid American trip over his own words.

"So what's everyone having a good chuckle about? What's the joke?" Seemingly, out of nowhere, the director had appeared and was now standing beside one very freaked out actor. Everyone quietened down quickly and took their places again, preparing for the next scene. No one was ever sure if the director was serious or not and they really, really didn't want to get on his bad side.

One confused face later, the director finally snapped back into reality, "Okay, Mr. Braginski and Mr. Jones on set please! This is a fairly short scene and I have other engagements to attend after this!"

America just about had an aneurysm, "W-WHAT?! WHY HIM? WHY ME? WHHHYYY?"

"Mr. Jones keep the melodrama for the soap operas."

Russia was like this man more and more every passing minute.

Russia walked onto the set, it was set up like an interrogation room, a small drab room with a gray linoleum floor and a rusty, metal table that looked like it had been stained with blood. Two rather uncomfortable chairs sat opposite from another.

As America walked up behind him, Russia turned around and smiled, "This will be fun, da?"

America thought he just died a little inside.

[So... we will be skipping several months of filming and skipping to Premiere next time guys! *can't spoil what will happen in the interrogation room* I will update parts 9 and 10 tomorrow!]

Heh, I love your voice for America and your sense of humor; it's the little lines like "America thought he just died a little inside." that are so understated yet so damn funny. And I enjoyed that beginning, too: "You can't think that you're playing a villain, or you'll end up with a cartoon. You have to think about him as a person and a hero." Very smart, and almost certainly very true. (Pfft, and everyone laughing at their UST America's comment amused me. XD)

And heck yeah, this sounds like a perfect time for a time skip! :D Although you've got me quite curious to see what happens in the interrogation room, I can't wait to start seeing everyone's reactions change from "America's in a movie? This should be interesting!" or whatever to creeped out and uncomfortable and stuff. And I can't wait to see whether America's clueless about their reactions or tries to cheerfully reassure them and just ends up creeping them out more! Heh.

ROFL I love how America's just freaking out over Russia's role! I wonder where did he get the assumption that its a woman and not Russia! XDD PFFTT he probably thought it was going to be Ukraine!

Oooh I'm dying for the premeire and how everybody's reactions will be! >:DD

Oh snap, their scene together...can't wait to find out what goes down! (The Oscarlicious hysterical breakdown scene perhaps?)

Yes. You're doing this totally right. Go you! Looking forward to more!

Re: Kill 'em damn Soviets [8/?]

(Anonymous) 2010-08-27 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I just had a thought! That Oscarlicious hysterical breakdown scene leads to both Russia and America winning Oscars: Russia gets Best Actor and America gets Best Supporting Actor (that is if Russia is the hero since America is the villain). America'd butthurt in that he never got a Best Actor, and lost it to Russia. LOL

...and then after the movie comes out slash fangirls make Alfred/Ivan fiction of the characters in the movies and America and Russia are both like "OH GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE???"

because you know it would happen.

He really wasn't used to all the attention, there were cameras flashing everywhere which only seemed to confused and disorient him further. When a photographer asked for his picture, he stopped and turned slowly to face them. Japan knew it was impolite to turn the young and eager man down but he suspected more and more would continue to take his picture and that would mean he would be late to the screening which would be even ruder.

"Ah, allow me to consider it and perhaps at a later date," Japan began backing up slowly while giving a few short bows before turning quickly and walking towards the venue.

When America had invited Japan to go see the screening of 'For Justice?', which apparently America would be starring in, Japan had been somewhat reluctant to go; mainly because he wanted to avoid that noisy and loud crowd that was to be waiting outside of the movie theater selected for the screening. Of course, Japan was also very interested in seeing a new Western film, so he thought it wouldn't be such a bad idea (not to mention it would've been very rude to miss it).

"Yo Japan!" America came jogging up along side of him with the same horde of photographers that were snapping more and more photos. America paused and struck another heroic pose for the paparazzi who just seemed to eat it up all the more. Japan had never felt older.

"Ah, America-san," Japan attempted to get the American's attention,"we wouldn't want to miss the screening..." Thankfully, America seemed to agree that seeing his debut as an actor (hero) most certainly took priority over getting his photo taken (but just barely).

"You're totally right Japan! We can't miss my heroic debut!" He easily slipped out of the encroaching photographers grabbed Japan's hand and dragged him into the theater. Japan, somewhat flustered at the sudden contact (honestly, were all Westerners this forward?) was immediately distracted by the massive amount of nation present. It looked as if almost everyone was here... Whoever had put this together must've really gone all out. The lights dimmed signaling that the guests should move from the reception area into the theater.

"Are you ready for my awesome debut Japan?" America asked, turning around and giving Japan a huge grin as moved towards the theater entrance,

"Yes," Japan agreed, giving a slight nod of his head, "I'm sure it will be very interesting."

They took their seats waiting for the director to come out and give his speech before the screening started. Japan listened quietly as America told him of his exploits during the movie and what part was surely to be "the most epic and awesomest" and how he was so "heroic". Japan, for the most part, simply nodded occasionally acknowledging that he had heard what America had said. He couldn't give his opinion on the film until he had actually seen it.

One thing did catch his attention though, America had said:

"I made this movie so awesome but I like seriously can't believe that Russia got a part in the film cause, you know, he's gonna make it horrible and stuff spreading his creepiness and stuff all over the place..."

Wait, why was Russia in the same movie as America? Japan started to feel a little queasy... maybe it would've been better if he hadn't come...

The chattering suddenly died down as the director walked out onto the stage and applause was heard. The director paused in front of the mike and smiled as the applause gradually died down.

"First of all, I want to thank you all for coming to the first official screening of our movie! I would explain my ideals for creating this movie but, to be honest, the main inspiration was a long held grudge against the film 'Red Dawn'. I flipped the situation around and decided to show the other side. The only question I want you to ask yourselves is how far is this country willing to go to enforce it's brand of justice? What lines will be crossed? Finally, I would like to say that some of our actors may even be surprised by the final product."

A poignant glance was shot at America and, of course, it went right over his head.

Japan head turned around sharply, from behind him had come a little giggle.

The movie started.

Yessssssss, I can't wait to read more. XDDD

Enjoy your visit to Alfred, anon! ;D But don't eat too much fast food or you'll diiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee~! D:

Upon rereading ... actual thoughts? :D

(Anonymous) 2010-08-28 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't sure before, but it looks like the situation is going to be entirely a surprise to Alfred, after all? The way some movies are filmed, that's actually really believable; not to the mention most actors allegedly don't get to see the final product till the screening party or premiere. And the language barrier between Alfred and the Russians (while filming, at least) certainly doesn't help him know what's going on, does it?

I imagined Alfred knowing what he was playing all along when I read the prompt, so it's kind of awesome to get another perspective on this. And it's cool that the art fill below is so different in that way, too; I bet OP is pleased, huh?

Since I'm pretty sure who that giggle Japan heard came from, I'm surprised he didn't just outright flee in terror! Even if he's giggling over something relatively innocent. *twitch*

[So I've discovered they have wireless at hotels... *headdesk* Anyways, I'm super happy this fill is getting so much love! The more the merrier! Anyways, on with the story!]

It wasn't as if he hadn't been beaten before, in fact, that statement would be an outright lie. What he wished was true, however, was that it got easier over time. That each strike to the ribs, each broken nose, and multiple cigarette burns on his body would somehow hurt less the next time.

It didn't.

The feeling that eventually he would be free, he would be able to return to his small countryside home outside of Tver, spend time with his wife and children, attend church regularly, and drink vodka that kept him fighting, that kept him enduring the beatings.

When the Americans had invaded Russia, he had done what he thought was the right thing to do: he had fought back. Apparently, Russia's "democracy" wasn't sufficient enough for them. No, it needed to be American "democracy. He knew the system of the Motherland was corrupt but what business was of the Americans to interfere in it?

Of course, they had come in under a different pretense. The Russians had been "aiding the Iranians in the development of nuclear energy for unknown and suspicious reasons... could pose a potential threat to the national security of the United States of America and the rest of the free world" was the statement that had come from the White House.

He had heard that line before.

And here he was, at the mercy of an American military man, undoubtedly a high-ranking one at that.

Another swift kick to the stomach, was that the third or the fourth one? He had lost count. He gasped and coughed in an attempt to start breathing again. Of course, that was too much of a luxury for him his captor had decided, as he dealt repeated blows to the man's stomach.

He was starting to become numb, all he could feel now was the pain as reverberated and echoed in large and loud pulses throughout his body.

The kicking ceased. Oh, it seemed as if it was time to take a break and get back to the interrogation.

He wasn't sure he was glad.

The American man squatted down beside him, a lilting grin dancing across his face.

"I admit it must feel kinda strange to be interrogated in Lubyanka... didn't you guys use this place once too, like to torture confessions out of people and stuff?"

He gently flicked away a little bit of drool that had gathered on the Russian man's chin. He almost flinched away from the touch. Almost.

Instead, he spat in the man's face and swore at him in Russian.

The American man looked a little surprised; rather intrigued by the foreign substance that had landed on his face. He attempted to stare at it cross-eyed through his glasses. He then removed it from his face and began to wipe it into the Russian's cheeks and eyes.

He smiled apologetically,"Sorry, I don't want any of your Russian shit, it should stay where it belongs."

He then punched him in the nose.

Ignoring the cries of pain from the man on the floor, the American began to slowly pace the room.

"So you're the leader right? I kinda guessed because you were the one leading all the commies into the battle and you were the one who looked like he was actually smart. The rest seemed kinda stupid."

He paused and glanced at the man, as if expecting a response, all he received was a grunt of pain.

"You don't speak English, do you?"

A strangled, "Fuck you," was the response.

A kick to the mouth was the reply.

"Honestly, we're doing you guys a favour! Getting rid of your crappy, corrupt government! Do you know how much we're spending to help you guys? You'll get American-style democracy for god's sake! And what kind of payment are we getting in return? Guerrilla fighters?" He stood still and looked out the grimy window and pouted, "I was expecting a warmer reception."

***

The curtains closed a half an hour later with the conclusion of the film.

America turned to Japan, all excited.

"Wasn't that great?"

[I was reading through some comments below and the general concensus was that Alfred would be horrified by his actions. No guys, while he was not aware of how the film was being made, he's perfectly aware of how his actions will be perceived... but he still think he's the hero.]
