Self-explanatory. Here you can talk with other anons about fills, prompts, past connections, anything related to the kink meme!

Please try to keep this post ON TOPIC to discussions related to the kink meme, like rule changes, help finding lost prompts, and questions/discussion pertaining directly to fills or prospective fills. I honestly do not think that it was the A!A. What makes you think that the author anon asked to have it deleted? Or that he/she was a mod? Perhaps, it was a random anon or maybe the mods took it upon themselves to delete the reviews. I wouldn't doubt the latter I have seen innocent enough threads turn into a wank thread because of just one commenter taking offense towards everyone else. The mods don't want this to happen to any other threads and are taking it a step further (perhaps a step too far) by deleting any comments on sensitive topics that have the potential to become wank threads. In this case the thread you described does have that potential. Though I am upset it was deleted because if it was handled as civilized as you said despite the topic being what you mentioned than more anons could have benefited from reading about it and seeing how true disagreements, arguments, and sharing of info needs to be dealt with here and else where.

Well, France's characterization has brought on multiple wank wars before, are we going to start deleting all requests/fills/comments regarding France?

If they are indeed deleting all sensitive topics that have the potential to become wank threads then they should have deleted the request. As another anon has mentioned... "oh, a request asking for controversial historical information that will be at least partially based on personal opinions and may or may not have sufficient factual support? I am sure everyone on earth will agree with everything the A!A put out"

The point is, why did the mod allow a request about history (a sensitive topic indeed) in the first place and then freaked out when people started talking about history in the comments?

DA

That's the weird thing. It was very polite and non-aggressive and people were chiming in with interesting, valid points about how we handle memory and tragedy. It's a pity.

I love those discussions! The nature of memory/history & how people write it is one of my favourite parts of this fandom. I'm sorry I missed it. :(

I understand why the mods have been taking a better-deleted-than-wanky stance, what with the pairing wank lately, but there needs to be a better definition of "wank" so that anons can keep discussions to the safe side of the line. :/ And if discussion is considered to be taking up meme space, a quick "Take it to the disco post" would stop it growing on the main meme but not destroy the conversation.
