America's my favorite, but it's the same with him as it is every other character--they're countries. You can make an excuse to hook up anyone and written right, it'll read plausibly. I can easily accept America as the fandom bicycle so long as there's a sense of, "You're obnoxious, but sex with you would be nice, so why not?" coming from the other party. I have a harder time with everyone suddenly being his One True Love, interchangeably.

Oh absolutely, I have a hard time with any character that is written as the most sought out character in the universe unless it is a gag piece or the author gives a good reason. For example, there was a fic in which everyone wanted to get into America's pants. Some had feelings for him. Some wanted a piece a that ass because America's virginal status was announced. Some wanted to tap that because other people were chasing America and there was no way in hell they were going to be left out. That makes it much more fun to read than Character A is a beautiful angel who everyone wants!

Perfect angel and pure evil are no fun at all :)
