No, it's not just you. Considering how the average fanfic brutalizes some other person's intellectual property, I'm finding this all quite hilarious. It's on par with doujinshi scanners getting bent out of shape when someone else makes their scans available without permission. Lollerskates indeed.

For those who are grumpy about the OP even thinking of this and seeing it
all as a potential threat to their own work, it's the assholes who don't care enough to even ask that you've got to be worried about. Plagiarists don't tend to worry about what other people think and certainly don't post about their actions before ripping folks off.

It's always funny when people who aren't overly respectful of copyright suddenly blow a fuse when their fanwork, scans and similar aren't treated with utter respect of their questionable ownership.
