Reader!anon is sitting in front of her PC and can barely see the screen because she's crying her eyes out. This was beautiful. Simply, truly beautiful. Everything about it. I don't even know what to say other than I've never cried so much in my life because of a piece of writing, let alone a fanfiction. In connection with the song, it broke my heart. Multiple times. And I can assure you, that's absolutely a good thing. I know a fanfiction is good when it does things like this to me.
You, author!anon, are a genius.

And to actually talk about the fic... your way of writing and describing feelings, emotions and thoughts of the characters is just mind blowing and, aware that I repeat myself, just beautiful. The storytelling is excellent, I just love the bittersweetness that it brings with it, the kind of relationship Austria and Germany have and how you all spun this around the time of war. Maybe this all is touches me so much because it seems so real. Like this could really have happened _{despite the fact countries normally aren't sexy bishounen persons.} It makes the whole story so much more valuable.

He was a nation. He was Austria. Never in his life did he hate who he was with such burning passion and it came as a great shock to himself. He wondered how it would be like to be human. To be free from constantly having to bend to another's will, to be free from forming alliances that hurt more than helped. To be able to love freely...

This is my favorite part. I think nothing ever described the burden of being a nation as great as this paragraph does.
