Of Lost Teeth and Memories (1b/?)
(Anonymous) 2010-11-09 03:39 am (UTC)(link)“You left me.” The boy stated, slight lisp evident in his speech. Obama almost laughed and Cameron looked confused.
“Yes, I left you with your brother because I had to come to the meeting.” America did not look placated, but turned his face away in a huff, arms still wrapped around his boss’s leg. “Alfred, where is your brother?” he tried again, leaning down and using as calm as a tone as he could. America only shrugged, refusing to respond verbally. “Alfred…” Obama chided, and the boy finally reacted.
“He’s bein’ slow!” America exclaimed and Obama looked to Harper, who shrugged. The two North America leaders, after discovering all of the nation’s predicaments, had left the tiny Canada and America with an aide. It was a mystery that America escaped in the first place. The mystery of Canada was soon solved, though, as the small boy came toddling into the conference room, the aide nowhere in sight.
“Al!” Canada cried, moving toward his brother. England had, at some point, calmed down enough to raise his head and watch the smaller children from above, ever present scowl on his face. America released Obama’s leg and turned toward Canada, waiting for his brother to catch up. Their reunion never occurred, however, because Canada caught his foot on the rug and proceeded to fall flat on his face. The leaders gasped as the boy fell, but there was no saving him.
Canada lay there for a moment, completely still, and everyone in the room was unsure what to do. The tiny nation had piqued France’s interest, who was now watching with bemusement from Sarkozy’s side. A soft ‘Mattie?’ came from America, and Canada slowly pushed himself up and then into a sitting position. He looked up to find all ten world leaders and three other nations staring at him, and did the first thing that came to mind:
He burst into tears.
For such a normally quiet nation, Canada could cry, and loudly. The leaders—and France—slapped their hands over their ears at the noise, Cameron winced since his hands were occupied, and England furrowed his brows at the boy. Harper quickly began to make his way to his own de-aged nation, embarrassed.
Somehow, America was able to reach Canada before Harper did. America dropped to his knees and threw his arms around his brother, hoping his embrace would stop the boy’s wailing. When the Prime Minister did make his way over to the boys he simply brushed America aside and lifted Canada off the floor, wiping tears off of his chubby cheeks. America, very upset with this development, turned back to his own boss in question. Obama shook his head.
“Let Mr. Harper take care of Matt right now, okay? You can see him after he’s calmed down.” Obama said, hoping the boy would accept the answer. America didn’t.
Ignoring his boss, America marched up the Harper and tapped him on the leg. Harper, who was bouncing Canada slightly to cheer him up, looked down to the boy.
America had a stare down with the Prime Minister for a moment, searching for the right words in his limited vocabulary. “Give…give Mattie back.” He stated, pouting. Harper sighed.
“Just let me cheer him up for a minute, okay? I’ll let you see him as soon as I can…” he trailed off, focusing his attention back on Canada, whose tears had not slowed.
America scowled furiously, grabbed on to Harper’s pant leg, and began shouting at the Prime Minister. Coupled with his brother’s wailing, the noise caused many of the other leaders to start complaining.
England, still in Cameron’s arms, placed his own small hands over his ears to block out the loud brothers and laid his head back down onto his boss’s shoulder. It was going to be a long day.
Of Lost Teeth and Memories (1 notes/?)
(Anonymous) 2010-11-09 03:41 am (UTC)(link)For anyone who happens to be reading my other story (“How it Begins”, the ‘Canada is pregnant with quads’ fill) I got distracted (obviously) with this prompt when I was supposed to be writing a new chapter. I’ll update sometime on Saturday probably, but I hope you enjoy this if you happen to read it :)
Just for reference, France is like 6 or 7, England is about 5, and America and Canada are only 2 (hence the limited communication skills, haha…). China will be around France’s age. Prussia, Spain, Japan, and the Italies will be around England’s. Finally, Germany and Russia are about as old as Canada and America.
I have no idea how the bosses are supposed to act, except for maybe Obama and Cameron since I’ve heard about them the most. I don’t think I’ve even heard any of the others speak OTL Any suggestions are very welcome, but I will only be including the nations I mentioned before.
I hope everyone, especially the OP, enjoys this! I will continue it (hopefully), but it might be a little while.

I liked the way Canada reacted to his fall, looking around if he had attention and then bursting into tears; older sister of five, I can attest to the veracityXD
OMG, I can't wait to see Russia. (as for your question about other leaders, Putin is, literally, all over the Internet. Just Google him, you'll be linked to tons and tons of things).
As for Spain, well, our president is Zapatero...

-Merkel has a reputation for being an iron lady, pragmatic, and very austere...kinda what Germany would be, were he female, I thinkXD
-Sarkozy is a showman, but Berlusconi far tops him in thatXD

(Anonymous) 2010-11-10 01:18 am (UTC)(link)She does not seem very emotional but neither did she ever come of as cruel or something. In fact even if one does not agree with her, one tends to trust she will choose the best option for all involved.
tld; your fill is very cut <3

(Anonymous) 2010-11-10 03:00 am (UTC)(link)Wow, she and the Italian boss both have to take care of two, kinda heavy workload, considering how much of a devil those little nations can be.Re: Of Lost Teeth and Memories (1 notes/?)

(Anonymous) 2010-11-12 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)I just imagined how everyone would look to her for help with emotional children. After all, she is a woman and must have maternal instincts, right? And she just goes- Uhm. No.

Minority Childcarer (1/1) (minifill)
(Anonymous) 2010-11-29 07:17 am (UTC)(link)Minority Childcarer
--
“Look, you’re – you’re not fit to raise a child! I’ve got three girls, I know how to take care of a kid!”
“Mr. Abbott, this is not up for discussion, I am the Prime Minister of this country and it is my duty to care for its personification, no matter what age he is.”
“Don’t you ‘Mr. Abbott’ me, Julia, you know as well as I do that I’m more equipped to be a parent than you! I have experience.”
“If you’re finished being offensive, Tony –”
“I’m just saying, I’m better prepared for this –”
“Will both of you idiots shut up?”
The bickering party leaders paused for a moment to look down the table, where Bob Katter sat, glaring at both of them from under his akubra. “Don’t see why we're even discussing this. Raising kids is women’s work, Tony, don’t bother yourself with it.”
“I can’t believe you got elected,” muttered Adam Brandt, adjusting his glasses.
“You say something, city boy?”
“Nothing at all.” Brandt eyed the cot, positioned at the end of the table, that held their now very young national personification. “You know,” he said thoughtfully, “I think I’d be alright at it. Taking care of him, I mean.”
“You? I won’t have this country influenced by the likes of you!” Katter looked about ready to murder Adam, glaring daggers at the Greens member. Gillard massaged her temples, obviously trying to keep her cool. As the two men started to argue, Australia, previously asleep in the cot, began to bawl. The red haired woman gritted her teeth, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“Everyone out,” she said at length. When no one moved, she lifted her head, staring icily at each assembled politician. “All of you!” Grumbling, the independents filed out, followed by an irate Abbott and a disappointed looking Brandt.
Australia was still crying. Hesitantly, Gillard lifted him from the cot, nestling the boy – barely more than two years old, from the look of it – in her arms. “Shush, shush,” she murmured, feeling more than a bit silly. This had not been in the job description. Glancing about self consciously, she hummed a few bars of Waltzing Matilda, trying to soothe the upset nation.
Eventually, the bawling ceased, and Gillard couldn’t help but smile as she placed the sleeping child back in his cot. Reaching for her phone, she dialed in a number, speaking softly so as not to wake him.
“Quentin? Yes, it’s me. Do you have a moment … ?”
As she left to finish her conversation, Julia didn’t notice a figure lurking in the shadows of the meeting room, waiting until the door closed behind her until he moved. Quietly approaching Australia, Kevin Rudd regarded the boy with a sad smile, gently brushing an errant lock of brown hair from his forehead.
“I would have taken care of you,” he said softly, “if they’d only given me a second chance … ”

(Anonymous) 2010-11-29 09:05 am (UTC)(link)I sincerely hope Katter is kept away from small children. His hat might scare them.
So much love, anoon!
