And Japan would feel guilty if Greece was worrying. Guilty and somewhat pleased that Greece cared, but mostly guilty.
"You see, I...I don't really belong in this sort of place. I'm not glittery, I don't dance well, just these sorts of outings make my back hurt. I don't think I can keep up with you," Japan said.
"I don't go out like this every night...." Greece said. "Mostly I read."
"But really, I'm just too old for such things," Japan protested. "What do I know about love? Or pleasing you?"
Greece looked confused, and tilted his head, as if he were trying to understand another language he was not entirely fluent in. "You're afraid I won't like you?"
"There's many more people out there who are more interesting," Japan said quietly. "I know I am far from the most exciting person in bed. I'm certain you've had better. All in all, I doubt I can offer you much."
"But I like you," Greece said.
Japan patted his hand. "Infatuation always makes us blind. But once the passion has calmed, I will fade in your estimation."
"No... I like you. I like that you're quiet and thoughtful...I like that you're reserved and fastidious and polite.... I'm not much for going out and partying, really, but I wanted to get along with your friends." Greece shrugged. "I'd prefer to stay in with you and nap or read aloud more of Haruki Murakami's works or watch dramas together...but some things must be done."
"All this time, all I could think was that I was prolonging the inevitable. I suppose I've been a fool."
"I've waiting this long for you. I'm not going to let you get away that easily, you know?" Greece said. He leaned in to kiss him, his hands still on Japan's shoulder's. Japan cupped his face and for once, only cared a little who might see them. After all, they were outside a gay bar and these things were to be expected. When the kiss was over, Greece stayed close, nuzzled forehead to forehead as Japan stroked his cheeks.
"Can we go home now?" Greece said.
"I don't think they'll miss us. I suppose we could send a text just in case, however," Japan said. "I wouldn't want them to be offended."
"Watching them dancing like that is making my back hurt in sympathy pain....I hurt it playing paintball last time, you see...." Greece said. He rubbed at his back. "I'm too old for all this, I guess."
"Me too," Japan said. They leaned close, taking hands like those besotted lovers the world always seemed to love to idealize.
Greece leaned to whisper And in bed....I've no complaints. Japan flushed, but it was only half embarrassment, and tempered with happiness. He murmured a thanks as they walked towards the bus stop that would take them home, where there would be no bright lights, but plenty of bed for the both of them.

It does do a good job at accentuating how out of place Japan feels in that kind of environment and how Greece's tastes aren't as far-removed from his as Japan thinks. I did think that Japan was reassured by Greece's words just a little too quickly and easily, but well, it does fit their calm relationship.
One thing also threw me off a little:
Lately there'd been the little creeping, scratching thought that Greece might like someone more exuberant better. Someone like America or Greece, who would be able to have sex without the ritual and order which bordered on obsessive compulsive disorder. ...So is Japan saying that even selfcest would be more enjoyable for Greece than doing it with him?
Other than that, I enjoyed reading this fill. You're planning on doing even MORE Greece/Japan fills? This OP heartily approves too!
