But Feliks chases after you.

“Hey, hey, hey, like, wait up!” He grabs your arm. “Haha, you, like, really drive a hard bargain and stuff, huh? Are ya totally sure ya don’t want anything?”

You glance back. Nothing looks any more appealing than it looked ten seconds ago. You shrug and give an affirmative.

Feliks grins. “Well, then…hey, Liet!”

Toris jerks up from where he’d collapsed onto the ground. Leading a camel through a sandstorm, even a mild one, would do that to a person. “Huh?”

“Bring out the good stuff.”

With a wary look, Toris opens a very large, shabby wicker basket and pulls out several objects: a miniature pickaxe, an abnormally pointy spindle, an ornate, but cracked, hand mirror, a rusty fork, a small, dirty vial with a faded label, a small gong, and, lastly, an old oil lamp.

You watch with interest, but these things are ancient, and you don’t really have any use for them. It would be a waste of money to buy anything. And what was with the fork?

You ask.

Feliks rolls his eyes. “It’s not a fork. It’s a dinglehopper. Like, duh.”

You decide not to ask.

“Hey.” Feliks is grinning. “I, like, totally bet ya wanna know why this is the good stuff, am I right?” He doesn’t wait for your answer. “It’s ‘cause of the stories, dude. They’re, like, for real epic. Like this–” he picked up a stick and banged on the little gong, “–used to wake up ghosts! Okay, not, like, evil, creepy ghosts, but, like, you know, the kind that float around the family temple and just hang out and junk! And this thing–” he picked up the small vial, “–like, there used to be stuff in here, and it used to say ‘DRINK ME’, and it would, like, make ya get really frickin’ big! And this thing–” he picked up the lamp, “–has gotta be my total favorite! It’s got a looooooong story! But hey!” He looked back out at the raging sandstorm. It seemed to be getting even stronger. “We’ve totally got time! Ya wanna hear?”

For lack of anything better to do, you sit down and shrug.

“Like, omigosh, yay! Liet, ya, like, gotta tell the story, ‘kay? You’re, like, super-awesome at telling the story!” Feliks turns to his companion excitedly, pulling a pack of what look like edible sticks out of nowhere and munching on them.

Toris sighs, sits up again, gives you another one of those “See what I put up with” eye-rolls, but prepares to launch into the tale as instructed. You secretly wonder whether the two of them are together or not. Because if they are, Toris is really, really whipped.

You also wonder who would top in such a relationship.

But hush, the story is starting.

“Well, it begins a long time back, on a dark night…”

"You" is not Hungary because of the idle pervy boy-love comment. It's just a passing anon. Hungary will probably show up later though. Maybe. :)

This Disney-loving anon would like to request your hand in marriage XD Ariel's dinglehopper, Mushu's gong, Alice's 'Drink Me' bottle, all of the little references are just so cute X3 I'm really excited to see how the story plays out.

Also, with Aladdin being my favorite Disney movie -evar-, I'd like to applaud you for including the prologue of the movie (Sing it with me: Arabian niiiiiight~) before getting to the cave of wonders with Jafar. *super special awesome applauding*

So, darling, the wedding is scheduled for November 15th, and the Cinderella Suite in Disney World is reserved for our honeymoon <3

I'm usually pretty wary of frame narratives, but this looks quite interesting so far. Love the references too, like the first anon said. Can't wait to see how this plays out!

oh jeez, Aladdin isn't even this anon's favorite Disney movie and she's psyched :D this looks like it has the potential for AWESOME.
