Russia/America- Secretly Married

So, the US and Russia used to be on good terms during the 1800s, so much so that the two countries were anticipated to enter into a military alliance during a visit to Washington by Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich (1871). So, I'd like see them take this near alliance one step further-in anticipation of the alliance, they secretly get married.

Obviously the alliance never happens, and years later the US and the now Soviet Union break relations. However, America and Russia are still legally married, despite neither of them acknowledging it/doing anything about it as it was never public knowledge.

(TL;DR)

Many years later, Nation A finds an old marriage license of Russia/America's. The discovery is a shocker to both the Nations and America and Russia. Now, the two of them must confront the fact that they are -married-, despite not being on the best of terms.

The time period this is set in is up to you (Cold War/present day..) and whatever else you can think of. Russia/America preferred but not required!
