I.... where do I start.

This fic was on my top ten list for such a long time, I completely convinced myself it's okay that I probably won't see the second part because it's perfect as it is. I cheered like the immature fangirl I am as I saw that my most secret hops were filled and there indeed is a continuation.

And then. Authoranon you broke my heart, in the best possible way. You have a rare gift to write children characters believable, not just "adults acting childish" but truly immature logic and reactions. I can't decide whom I loved more in this, France or England, because they are both adorable in they hopeless attempts to do their best yet both failing so miserably due to the circumstances and their personalities that I cried over several scenes. This makes so much sense as the turning point when two little kids playing and teasing each other on green peaceful meadows became mortal enemies for the next millennium. The gradual process of breaking both England's and France's will is simply amazing, natural and completely heartbreaking. This is exactly how I can see Norman Conquest happening, and I'm not sure anymore if it's my headcanon confirming the fic or the fic creating my headcanon.

I'm getting a tad incoherent, you have to forgive me but this is an extremely emotional moment for me. You did a brilliant job, this is much deeper and just... so much more than the first part and I love it to pieces. It's long and it's wonderful because I will reread it often. This was exactly the missing spot in fruk fics and children/young nation APH fics in general. It's history in its cruelest form, yet described without the single usage of the word "blood" (yes I checked). It's a dream come true for me. Aa I'm getting awfully sappy so I think I'll stop now, although expect more gushing and/or lifelong stalking of your writing if you ever decide to deanon, dear author.
