Toppling The Hero 12b/12

Arthur squeezed his eyes shut. “I suppose we can.”

The stroked together, the warm flesh beneath their hands, sticky with blood, twitched and trembled. The deep purple color darkened to black. The tentacles fell away from them.

But it did not relinquish Alfred.

“Harder...” Arthur said. “Faster.”

Matthew nodded, sliding his hands rapidly over the pulsating flesh. He lifted his eyes, looking up at his brother. “Al... this might hurt.” Arthur snorted, but Alfred nodded.

The creature orgasmed, thrusting its twitching cock upward. Alfred wailed in mindless agony, but slowly, the cock inside him softened. Thick liquid – red from Alfred's blood – poured out of him. It pulled free of his body as it went limp, and soon he was released, tumbling to the ground.

They didn't waste any time. They grabbed Alfred and forced him to his feet. He cried out, stumbling, but they held him up, slinging his arms over their shoulders.

“Just a little further, love,” Arthur said. They made their way slowly toward the closest door, the constant threat of the monster behind them looming, but it did not follow.

Once they safely had a door between them and the monster, their only challenge left was figuring out just how the hell to get out of that place.

Matthew felt overwhelming desperation with every door they tried that led to another room, or another hallway. Part of him started to wonder if they really would escape. They were all stumbling along, only staying upright with the help of the other two, and it was something of a miracle they did not all go crashing to the floor, unable to stand back up. Soon they were pretty much dragging Alfred along with them, and the blood that dripped from him acted as a trail should they ever get lost.

Matthew gasped in surprise when he pushed a door open and was met by sunlight. He squinted, holding his free hand up to shield his eyes. They had really done it...?

“Don't stop just yet,” Arthur said hoarsely. “God, keep going...”

They pressed onward, leaving their prison behind, stumbling out into the cheerful sunlight. The door swung shut behind them, leaving the monsters trapped within to whatever their fate was.

They made it maybe a block from the building before collapsing. Matthew remained where he had fallen on the grass, tears streaming from his eyes. The horrid aches and pains he had ignored in the burst of adrenaline he had desperately rescued his brother with returned full force. Faced with freedom, with returning to his normal life, he tried not to think about everything he had so cruelly lost.

They had all escaped. That was all that mattered.

Not far away, Alfred was curled up in a sobbing, shaking ball, blood spreading on the grass beneath him. Arthur was kneeling, staring up at the sky with a wondrous look.

Nothing else mattered. They were free. Every shred of innocence had been stripped away, leaving festering wounds on their souls behind instead, but they had escaped. None of them had to be left behind.

Matthew laughed in delight. They were free. His body was aflame with agony, but he would heal. Alfred was curling up tighter on the red stained grass, crying and choking, but he would heal, too. Same with Arthur, who was still staring at the passing clouds.

Reese was dead, they were free, and they would heal in time.

Matthew laughed again, tears streaming down his grimy cheeks. He couldn't stop.

THANK GOD, A RELATIVELY HAPPY ENDING!

Seriously, I was thinking that they wouldn't be able to escape, but they did and I'm SOOOO HAPPY!

Poor boys...

That's such a great last paragraph. The ending fits so well with the tone of the rest of the story. Dark and bleak, but with a definite feeling of hope. I love the way you can bring out such a huge rush of emotion through just those few words. Really fantastic fill all around, with a spectacular ending!

OP!

Oh thank god, they all escaped. ;A; I can't say they escaped unscathed, but still, it's so great that they're out.

I loved that the ending was somewhat hopeful, even after everything they'd been through. Matthew's POV for the ending worked great. I still feel so bad for all of them, but for some reason I feel especially bad for Alfred. He probably feels incredibly guilty, blaming himself for all of this, not to mention everything he's been through... I feel like he'll be the one who needs the most therapy once they get back home. D:

And they all really need to get to a hospital. Especially Alfred, if he's still bleeding that much!

This was brilliantly written, from how awful the bad guy was, to the punishments, to the strength of the characters despite whet they've been through. Honestly I couldn't have asked for a better fill then this, so thank you. :)

Would it be too much to ask for an epilogue, or to at least see what Al, Matt, and Arthur will to do after this?

A!A

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Weeell... I was kinda going for leaving the ending, and how good or bad things go, all ambiguous and up to readers. That's one reason why I didn't extend the ending any further past their escape. ^^; I'd have to write like three choose-your-own-epilogues, and it wouldn't be quite the same. XD

THIS WAS AMAZING. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
INFACT...It's 3 in the morning and I have class in 3 hours....I loved this so much I stay up all night reading it. IT WAS SO AWESOME.

And I'm so glad it's a happy ending! (even though a part of me wanted some eery cliffhanger where Reese manages to escape.)
