[Part 10] The Two Princes of Russ

Matthew and Alfred are twin princes of a kingdom that has been suffering from the disease known as the "Gray Death", which has three symptoms. First, the afflicted begins to grow weaker and more fatigued until even walking short distances becomes difficult (how long this lasts is completely random). Then, they fall asleep for 11 days straight. When they awaken, it is to a heavy fever and fierce, dry coughing which, three days later, results in death.

Alfred is bold, courageous and dreams of the day he can leave the castle and become a hero, finding the cure for the Gray Death and slaying the plentiful monsters that lay waste to his beloved kingdom. He also considers himself Matthew's protector.

Matthew is meek and quiet, prefering the calm of artistry and music. He fears for his brother's safety, to the point he has made Alfred promise he will not leave for his adventures until Matthew is married--something he fully intends never to do.

But then Alfred contracts the Gray Death himself. Their father, who is notoriously cowardly, does not plan to do nearly enough to try to save Alfred, and so Matthew takes it upon himself to quest for Alfred's cure, finding his inner-warrior and courage along the way.

This does not need to be heavily based on the book at all, so long as what I described above (Matthew as Addie, Alfred as Meryl) happens.

Bonus: If you wish to include the twins' governess, I would love if they were Arthur (not genderbent, please).

Bonus: PruCan as a pairing, and Ivan as the equivalent to Drault, the hero of legend who Alfred obsesses over
