“Alfred,” he began. “You cannot linger here, in this world. It isn’t yours, and you need to get back. The people of your world need you.” The man’s green eyes flickered for a moment, as if he was struggling with himself internally, and Alfred’s heart twanged.
“But this world needs me, Arthur,” he replied quietly, but firmly. “And a hero can’t turn down a cry for help, no matter who it is!”
“Hero,” Arthur snorted, turning away. “You truly are from the past, aren’t you?” He remained silent after that, and Alfred tried again.
“Let me help you.”
Arthur was silent, but finally turned back to Alfred after a moment or two. “Fine,” he said tensely. “But only until I can find a way to get you home. Understand?”
Alfred grinned. “Deal.” The two shook on it.
“We’ll head to the mainland from here,” Alfred explained. “Seamus and the others can handle things here. We need to get the rest of this Rebellion into shape!”
Alfred laughed loudly. “Right!”
“After a g’night’s rest,” Rhys’ voice broke through the noise. “B’cause y’had a nasty fight just now. No need t’stress y’selves too far.”
“Agreed,” Seamus said with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “And it’ll give you two a chance to catch up on old times.”
Arthur blushed angrily. “Now cut that out!”
Ian and Seamus just laughed raucously, and Alfred smiled.

The Heros Are All Dead: DM'S NOTES FOR MISSION 1 PART 1
Wow, sorry about that! Christmas and New Year's really wore me out, but I managed to finish the first part for all of you! Thanks for being so patient with me so far! <3 Here's a brief summary of the things you may not have known/noticed:
Part 2a Character Classes: Arthur is a mage class, and Alfred is a gunner class. In DnD terms, Arthur is wearing cloth armor, and using a wand and a short sword as his offhand weapon. Alfred is wearing leather armor (ie, his jacket), and using a Deasert Eagle as his main weapon.
"Screw Deplomacy! I Have Charisma!": Alfred tries to reason with Arthur, but keeps failing his deplomacy checks. He then tries a decoy, which is sucessful. Finally, his last deplomacy check is sucessful.
Part 2b "Time is Layered": Arthur's explination of parallel dimentions is one offered up in Doctor Who, and is the most commonly used explination today.
Manifest Destiny: The Regent is using a tactic of world domination that allows him to occupy territory rather than conquor it. However, Nations that fall under his attacks and die become his own. It is likely he is doing this because he requires the Nations alive for something.
Part 2c Antartic Concentration Camp: The Regent choose this part of the world for several reasons: a) it is isolated and very harsh to live in b) it is unclaimed by any one Nation, and is therefore No Man's Land. Finally, c) Escape is impossible through normal means.
Sealed Borders: As it will be elaborated on in future parts, it is widely accepted fancannon that Canada as well as Russia has a bond with General Winter.
"You Are A Pirate!": More fancannon. Arthur is noted as being a pirate through much of his Empire Era. It is believed he slowly became a much more socially upstanding person as his empire slowly dwindled down to its current size, but he had never truly lost his edge.
The Heros Are All Dead: DM'S NOTES FOR MISSION 1 PART 2
Part 2d Seamus, Conner, Ian and Rhys: These four fan countries were created by fir3h34rt on DeviantArt. I used them simply because they were the ones I was most familiar with. (South Ireland is t3h smex <3 )
To Be A True Scotsman...: Ian is wearing a blue tartan kilt (a knee-length garment with pleats at the rear, originating in the traditional dress of men and boys in the Scottish Highlands of the 16th century), a sporran (a pouch that performs the same function as pockets on the pocketless Scottish kilt), Brogues (traditional thick soled shoes with no tongues and long laces), and a Sgian Dubh (a ceremonial knife worn as part of the modern Scottish Highland dress along with the kilt. It is worn tucked into the hose with only the pommel visible. The sgian dubh is normally worn on the right leg, but can also be worn on the left, depending on whether the wearer is right or left-handed), all of which are a part of a traditional Scottish man's attire, as would be expected of him.
Three Guns: My head cannon has become convinced, after reading (Un)lucky [the 'what if' story concerning the switching of Matthew with Alfred in the Finacial!GangBang!comic] that Alfred carries three guns on him at all times: A Desert Eagle (most likely a Mark XIX), a Colt (most likely an M1911), and a Derringer (possibly even a Semmerling pistol), which he keeps in his boot as a last-resort.
Part 2e MONSTERS!: Alfred is faced with small packs of Feral Wolves and Floating Eyes, typical, low-level monsters.
The Heros Are All Dead: DM'S NOTES FOR MISSION 1 PART 3
Part 2f "The Darkness is Moving": The beast Alfred and Arthur face is the Horned Serpent, a popular one in many different mythologies. This one isn't a nudge at any one reference in particular, but is used simply because I read something with one in it recently. >.< Lazy Anon is lazy While most horned serpents are portrayed as being good, this one has been twisted by dark magic into a killing machine.
Part 2g Get it Right!: Arthur corrects the serpent when he is called a 'sorcerer' by saying he is a 'mage'. While this is correct, it should be noted that Arthur is being cheeky, as Sorcerers are higher class than Mages.
Part 2h Read the Manual: Arthur uses a Blind skill here, and Alfred makes use of his Focus Shot ability. At the cost of going after the opponant, the usuer can inflict more damage, and have a 90% critical rate. It is not, however, spamable (ie, it is costly to use, and is therefore not a skill that can be used repeatedly in a battle).
Part 2i Feats of Strength: Alfred has enormous strength cannonly, and therefore the acts of picking up and swinging around broken trees and slamming giant serpents into the ground are completely feasable.
Magical Centers: These are not the centers of the countries, but rather where the magic is the strongest in any given area. Stonehenge is used here because of its ties to Arthurian mythology. (According to ledgend, it is the resting place for King Arthur's father, and was constructed under Merlin's orders.) Avalon is another one, but its location is unknown.
