Isn't it a little bit funny - that pairing's ending was very heartbreaking and tragic, but it was also quite real given their history and... gah. I have a love-hate relationship with what happened on that bridge, I swear. But what if Francis was brainwashed like Alfred was in this author's other wonderful supernatural fic? OH NO. Writernon chose the name as she was doing research for the fic - she was surprised to realize that there actually was a Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo. And then she saw the picture of it lit up at night and decided it was appropriately gay and flashy enough for Francis to like, for some reason. Hence, why it ended up in here. Anon is familiar with X, but she hasn't actually read much of it.
