This, this is absolutely beautiful. I had to read it twice before I could even begin to articulate my thoughts, and even now, I don't know that I can properly express how much I love everything about this short, but absolutely gorgeous fill.
If I have to pick a favorite part, it's the clear contrast between the innocence of young America and the America who understands what it is to want to hide your hands away beneath the gloves. Whose hands are calloused and scarred as well. No longer a child, but England's equal.
