Heh, hopefully someone might be able to stop by and help out amidst the F5ing of the Hetaween event... I have a particular Human AU fic in mind that focuses on the life of a family, leaning more towards just general fluff and comedy than angst.

Before I decide to use the "Anything Goes" prompt... I was wondering is there a prompt out there that calls for this particular family fluff kink, with hopefully no pairing restriction.

As I have several OTPs in mind (ie RusAme, UKUS, FrUK, UKJapan etc), I'm trying to mix and match them with original gender and Nyotalia versions for a predominantly het pairing setting-- make it a nice change of pace from yaoi! (I know the lady nations out there needs some love, unfortunately I have no interest with some of them pairing wise ;_; )

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to the kink meme, and I've written three fills for people (Reinfield Syndrom, Snake!England, Denmark+Norway soaping Sealand's mouth) and every time I try to request something, there is a freeze. I have waited patiently but it seems like every time it is just about to end the request freeze, in an hour there are 50 requests. I don't know what to do, I feel like I am being selfish. Maybe I should just quit the kinkmeme?

The freezes are to keep the meme from getting completely overwhelmed with requests. It's luck of the draw whether you get a request in or not.

If you're only filling because you want to request something, the kink meme really isn't for you. Harsh reality is that no one cares if you stay or go.

It can be like that. If you hang out on the meme you'll be able to get in some requests eventuality. Of course, there is no guarantee they get filled anyway. Even if you write 30 fills yourself. If you think like that you'll just end up unhappy.

Don't give up, anon! When I was new to the kink meme I thought I would never get a request in. However, after a while, I managed to get a few in. There's even been a few times where it took almost a day to reach 50 requests.

If it would help, there's supposed to be a twitter that tells when a freeze is lifted. Perhaps you could look into that?

Don't feel bad or selfish, though. As a filler, you have just as much a right to request as anyone else. I feel bad if any filler leaves. Be patient, check often as you can, and you should be able to get a request in.

I would like to point out that it isn't 50 request, it's 5 pages of requests...

5 pages of requests x 25 requests per page = 125 requests.

Also, "Should I quit the Kink meme?" It's not like you've paid a fee to join, you don't even need to have an account on livejournal to be here...there's no membership list (which would be interesting to say the least as we're all anonymous) and in all reality, no one will specifically notice if you never come to the kink meme ever again.

We're all here to enjoy reading fills and writing some ourselves. If you don't get a request in, whatever. Don't write fills just so you can request something, write because you enjoy writing.

So basically I'm looking for a couple of requests... yeah I a repeating myself... anyways.

The first one is a request for an Au that takes place after the death of Rome before he can claim an heir to his empire. France was one of his concubines, Spain and Greece were his illegitimate sons, Germany and Prussia were the sons of his adviser Germania and all of them were trying to get control of the empire.

The other one was fem! America and Australia in ahuan Au in the wild west. I believe that there was one fill for it that was already written.

Does anyone have the link to the request that asked for France, Spain, and Prussia and any Lonely Island song? The BFT index has the request for BFT + Dick in a Box, but I swear there was a more recent request that was open to other Lonely Island songs as well.

There was a request that for some reason I was unable to save and now I am need a link to it once more.

It was a Nation is born a human and then turned into a nation request. Something that I remember from it is that it also said that they could be near death.

Oh, it's a m-preg/forgiveness fill featuring America/Canada/Mexico.

I've recently been very busy with college and finals approaching, and have taken more than a week and a half or so to update the two fics I have going here right now. It's been a few days and no one has commented on either update, and I'm wondering if people are just staying quiet or after that long interest has maybe been lost, and if so, is it still worth it to try and keep up a frequent posting schedule between everything I have to do? Or just finish them at a more relaxed pace and de-anon everywhere, because I would really like to get the fics outside of the meme. I don't tend to write for very popular pairings (I have an insane weakness for rare-pairs and such), so I understand not getting many readers, but I don't know, I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that people actually care about the fics or not? Apologies if this comes off whiny, and a big part of the problem is probably that I should have warned more for a potentially sporadic updating schedule. But it makes me sad to see fics any authors have worked hard on get updated and then go unnoticed. anyone have any advice, or am I just picking at bones at this point and should just suck it up and finish like I've been going?

I would deanon it somewhere, continue it there, and post the link in the thread you already have made. It's hard to say whether people are reading or not on the meme, so do what makes you feel better. You just can't post the updates on the fill list.

You could also deanon and publish chapters in both places if you wanted.

It is understandable to be frustrated by a lack of comments. Many people read and enjoy fills on the meme without commenting (I have been guilty of that myself) so it can be difficult to know whether people are enjoying your fill. First off, never forget that, in the end, the only person you are writing for is you. If other people get joy from your fill, that's great, but it is your story and you should be happy with it. That said, don't forget that this is a hard time for many devoted kink memers to stalk the kink meme due to holidays and heavy loads of school work. Therefore, your regular readers may be simply too busy to spend time on the meme and that might result in a lack of comments.

My final piece of advice is in agreement with the last bit from the above!anon. Try updating at a de-anon site and the kink meme together. That way you can take comfort in knowing your work is being read while not leaving comment-shy Anons behind!
