I tend to stick with Germany/Romano and France/Uk.
Though I would like to write some Uk/US or Us/Uk.

And some Spain/Romano.

Favourite comments?

On a hopefully lighter note: Fillers, what comments have you gotten on fills here that you really liked? The ones that made you go 'yay, someone gets it!', or that made you laugh, or that gave you good ideas, or that were just really complimentary and made you feel more confident as a writer?

My favourite comment ever was on a fic with Polamd as the main character - an anon who liked it finished with a side question in Polish. I didn't answer, because I don't speak a word of Polish. But I was deeply flattered that they found my setting so convincing they'd assumed I did. I felt like my research had really paid off. So, mysterious Polish anon, if you're still out there, thank you!

ALL of the comments on my current WIP. I have never felt so much appreciation for a fill before. It makes me want to sit down and write it all the time =D

People saying that my take on a character's mind was interesting and refreshing and asking for a sequel. It was especially nice considering that it was a porny fic.

Friending anon is so friending you. Just to clarify, you are just doing a germancest index right?

I think it'd be cool to see a 'stuff other than fics' index. Like, art fills and comic fills and whatnot.

Hey, it'd be relatively small and easy to maintain.

All the OP's comments from my last (now finished) WIP just made me feel so fuzzy and loved inside. The other comments were generally wonderful as well, but the OP's really made me so happy. I was so glad they were enjoying my writing to the degree they were, and they were just generally sweet and oh so adorable.

On the fill I'm working on right now (well, hypothetically...I haven't been able to update for about 2 months now orz damn you RL and writer's block) someone posted on how they really liked the atmosphere I was setting up; the situation being subtle and eerie rather than being overly DOOM AND GLOOM like it could be. It made me so happy that I was accomplishing that, since it was my goal.

I should get back to work on that *kicked*

I wrote a Bad Touch Trio fic once and I got a lot of pretty comments that liked my characterization of them, especially for Spain. It made me really happy.

Another fill got a lot of really meaningful/analytical comments about character and loneliness and what it means to be alive and fjsl;ada I loved them all. It was kind of inspiring to see the reaction that'd been elicited, if that makes sense.

I unfortunately tend to habitually keep pretty close to my OTP, so I read and write almost all FrUK. I've been trying to expand my repertoire of characters because I DO love all of them, so I've been forcing myself out of my comfort zone by bookmarking fills that have nothing to do with them--and I'm currently working on a Spamano fill. And dammit, it's HARD. D:

I request things I don't feel comfortable or don't feel I have the skill to write. Most of my requests are cracky because I fail at stupid humor.

I tend to actually request a lot of things involving America, though, interestingly enough. I've only written about him once and it was only a little angsty drabble thing not worth dredging up.

I started a fill that begins with tentacle porn and someone commented that the fact that I made them interested in tentacle porn was a 'testimony' of my 'talent'.

I've never had someone use 'talent' in my a comment on one of my fics before. It made me feel all kids of wonderful. It was one of the shortest comments I ever got but... I'm probably reading too much into it, it was probably an offhand word choice, but it made me feel really good.

Now I'm scared I won't be able to write the rest of the fic orz

Someone commented that my fill got them into a pairing they hadn’t thought about before, and that they were going to write their own fic for them. It made me feel flattered that I inspired someone to do that with my writing. It also made me feel happy, since it’s my OTP, and also a rarepair, so there’s not a lot about them.

I adore analytical comments, and all the different ways people read my stories. ♥ The one that makes me grin like an idiot is the anon who pulled a feminist reading out of my cracky-porny one-shot, and implicitly compared it to a Georgia O'Keeffe painting. I never intended that, but I can completely see it and love the anon for their comment.

I'm an odd duck, I know. ^^;

Actually I just reread all the other comments and I feel... so happy. Damn fuck I want to hug all these people.

My two favorite comments would probably have to be:

1. A semi-coherent French-Canadian anon who commented on a finished multi-part story. Just the whole comment was incoherent and in broken English in places and was adorable. The fact that they commented four months after I finished and despite the story already having a shitload of comments was really touching for some reason.

and:

2. Every single comment I've received so far on my newest WIP. I was a bit wary of posting it, but these comments have all been enthusiastic, encouraging, and helpful, and they've really eased my mind about this fill. I hope I can continue to receive these sorts of comments as I continue to update.

I wrote a minifill once, so packed full of local jokes that I was half sure no one would get any of it. But they did and they laughed and I was happy.

See also: pretty much all comments I've received ever.

I love comments that are more than a single line. I appreciate when somebody takes the time to refer to concrete details (dialogues, characterization, moments, descriptions etc.) about the fill, which means they have read it carefully and it's helpful for me to know what really works in my writing. I try to give long comments when I like a fic, as those are the kind I'd like to receive!
And when somebody comments they were moved by some part of it, that completely melts me! ^_^

The one where someone commented on how I didn't make the characters seem like bricks. It was my first fill on the meme and it made me so happy! The formatting was horrible in that one

Silly author anon is silly

I seem to have lost a link to my own fill. It was called Volcano and it was with Norway and Iceland with Norway comforting Iceland. Does anyone have the link?

Awww, friending anon is sweet. Right now I'm just doing germancest (including Germany/Prussia/[other]) index but I kind of like indexing so I might start another once I get caught up with this one...

I wrote a human AU once that was so well received it made me cry. Anons went out of their way to tell me what they'd liked about my fill, what had touched them in it, what passages were their favourites, and throughout it all they were so nice and happy it made me want to write more for the pairing. It wasn't a particularly funny month for me in rl, too, so logging in and finding that people I'd never met across the world had taken the time to leave me a few words and say they'd loved my story was a real, beautiful treat.

Rock on, meme &hearts

I have one WIP that has the most amazing OP one could possibly hope for. She comments on every single one of my chapters with long thoughtful analyses and responses, sometimes longer than my actual chapters! She is positively superhuman. :D Never been so happy to fill for someone.

I was writing a WIP (well now it is) that only got to one part before life took over and the fill was pushed to the very back of my concern.

I recently found the link to it again through an index and found more comments than expected (er more for my standards that is xD) one of which was left 3 months after I posted it, lamenting the death of the fill.
I am currently attempting to go back to it now though, I really didn't want the fill to die, it was my first WIP :'<
