Self-explanatory. Here you can talk with other anons about fills, prompts, past connections, anything related to the kink meme!

Please try to keep this post ON TOPIC to discussions related to the kink meme, like rule changes, help finding lost prompts, and questions/discussion pertaining directly to fills or prospective fills. A question.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-20 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Not even sure if this would be the right place to post this. If not, I'll be happy if pointed to the right direction.

This could get long, but bear with me, as this could affect the meme in a way, so I wanted to make sure I do a temperature check before I even continue with my plan...

To encourage more fills (of a single specific pairing), I thought of proposing to my pairing's community mods a "kink meme contest/past unfilled prompt exchange" of sorts. The plan is still in the brainstorming stages, so there are lot of things that still need to be polished to make it work, but the main thing that concerned me is-- if an influx of a same-pairing fills appear in the fill list would be frowned upon, especially if the reason behind it was because of a contest/exchange from another community.

Thanks for reading this post in advance.

I personally wouldn't care. If it was for a pairing I read, I'd read them, if it wasn't, I'd scroll down. Anything that gets things filled would be awesome by me, anon! :D

(have you also posted this to the mod post? If you want 'official' go ahead you should ask them)

Oh... so I have to upgrade to a paid account! That's why I never saw those icons and possibilities you mentioned... :_D

Sigh! I'll have to keep tracking with my rudimentary method (copy+paste in a word doc XD) ;_;

Still, thanks you both for clarifying!

As long as it's the fill list and not spamming/multirequesting then I think it's fine. If I like the pairing I'll read if I don't, I'll scroll over.

I wouldn't mind an influx of whatever pairing you're thinking of. Even if I'm not a fan of it and I won't read it, there are other people who will, and at least there will be more fills and fics to go around.

Good idea. ;) Go for it.

+1

And it's not like lots of fills stops anyone else from posting more fills. :)

Peanut butter sandwich is quite common in Hong Kong. Jelly is also common. But we usually don't put peanut butter and jelly together.

Good idea. I'll post a message in the mod post, just to make sure they're comfortable with it. Much thanks.

Oh no. I won't be telling them to spam the request list. If this ever goes through, it will be basically doing fills for the unfilled prompts between Parts 1 to 17.

On book marking

Go get a delicious account or a Diigo. I personally like the first better but after that whole 'its gonna shut down' scare I upload it all to my Diigo.

ayrt

Thanks for your advice!

Yes, I didn't try delicious because I heard it was dissappearing (what happened with that, though? Was it another paranoid rumour or what).

But I never heard about Diigo. Is it clear/easy to use like Delicious? Do you recommend it?

asian anon here: we have peanut butter, we have jam (jelly) but as separate entities, they never go together. oh but we do have peanut butter with err, jam stripes in it, so that the only time we have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. and as other anons mentioned, nutella sandwiches are very, very common. eh, i had nutella with cream sauce and salmon and pasta...

Looking for the Anything Goes Post

(Anonymous) 2011-03-22 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Does anyone have the link? I forgot to bookmark it. I started a fill, which doesn't fit OP's prompt and would like to start posting it there.

Thank you!

Re: Favourite comments?

(Anonymous) 2011-03-22 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Almost all of my favorite comments came from the same fill. There was one anon that said my ending seemed like some Ai Yazawa would right and i started jumping up and down and babbling to my friend I was on the phone with. I had someone else say that it was his/her favorite fill and I was beyond flatter.

In another fill I wrote one anon said I reminded him/her of Haruki Murakami and I nearly melted. Yeah when I get compared to a person who's writing style and story telling I like I just die from joy.

Cross Over

(Anonymous) 2011-03-22 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Anon hasn't been around in a while so has there been any Hetalia/My Little Pony crossover requests/fills?

fill count?

(Anonymous) 2011-03-23 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Does anyone know where the current fill count is posted? I couldn't find one in the last several pages of the fills post, nor is one linked from the current Request Freeze message. Is there one going?

Re: Cross Over

(Anonymous) 2011-03-23 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I have heard of anon. Now I want to see one...

Re: A question.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-23 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
What pairing, though, nonny? I might be able to come frolic and fill, depending on the pairing.

Re: fill count?

(Anonymous) 2011-03-23 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think there's one yet....they're having problems.

Re: When is a fill considered abandoned?

(Anonymous) 2011-03-23 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think there's a certain date after which it was been abandoned, because you never know what the situation is for the author.
For example, I was writing one thing, and stopped writing it because I had zilch inspiration. But six months later, I picked it back up. I know that it's really bad, but conjoined with that I didn't have much confidence with it (I still don't, I don't know if I'll deanon with it), I just couldn't find it to update. I think OP gave up on me, and I don't blame them.

However, due to this, I know try and write quite far ahead, so even if shit happens, I have something to post.

I think the thing is, how long should you wait until you decide a request should be given up on waiting for a fill?

As for your fill, I'd say if you having said you're on hiatus already, tell them. That's the main indicator as to whether an author has given up or not. And don't be too pushed by readers, I've found the ones who ask for sequels sometimes don't check on their comment...
