Help I need Language!

Help! I Can't Language Good!

Do you need some help with another language?
Do you know how to read / write a language that isn't modern English, and want to help your fellow anon?
If so, this is the place for you.

How this works:
  • You don't need to be anon when you are offering language aid.

  • When offering language aid, post a comment saying what language you will helping out with
    • Put the language you want to help out in in the subject line

  • Only one language per thread please. "I can help out with French and Vietnamese," for example is wrong. French and Vietnamese should go into two separate comments.

  • If you are requesting spelling, semantic or grammar aid in another language you must remain Anonymous.

  • You may post a comment requesting language aid, providing you do it in anon mode and there isn't already a thread going on for that language.

  • If there is already an aid thread for your desired language going, don't start a new comment asking for help unless you posted to that existing thread, and haven't received a response in 7 days

  • Please stick to the topic at hand (language aide). This isn't the place for chit chat.

  • If you have had experience with a particularly good online language resource that actually works than feel free to link it here as a reply to the first comment.
    • In the subject line, state what language it is and try to describe what the resource does.
    • Links to resources go in the comment area.

  • No pimped out fonts or embedded videos are allowed. They will be deleted.

  • Just a note. If you do have phrases in other languages in your fills, it's only polite to include a translation in English at the bottom of your fill somewhere.

"Voglio vederti("see you")/vederlo("see him"), dannazione"

I hope this is clear enough :D

Hello~ I hope I'm not being too demanding...

Can you translate the phrase "Your language is very hard" into Italian for me?

What are things you usually say in Italy when someone asks you 'How are you?' and when someone is about to leave?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Italian beta \o/

Augh I'm sorry I'm sorry I've been a bit busy and I did not check my inbox ;__;

Hopefully I'm not too late..

"La tua lingua è molto difficile"

When we want to say "how are you" ww usually say either "Come stai?" (quite literal translation) or "Come va?" ("how is it going?")! Both are equally fine!

And when someone is about to leave in what sense? Like.. "Goodbye"? In that case it would be "Arrivederci"!

Sorry again for the belateness ;-;

I need translating 'you smell bad' or 'you stink' into Italian.

Also, just checking that 'Dio mio!' is the correct way to say 'my God!' as an exclamation?

Thank you!

"Puzzi!"

Yes, it's a quite short translation ahah.

And "Dio mio!" is correct! You can also say "Mio Dio!", there's not really a difference!

Hello, I just need a few things;

1. I hate you, you bastard! I hate you! I hate you, I hate you, I -
2. 'Uh' and 'um' are pretty universal, I suppose, but are there any other equivalent onomatopoeia's specific to (or widely used in) Italian?
3. I have a feeling that Google translator is giving me the literal equivalent to BS, is there an Italian equivalent to its figurative slang meaning? Unless of course Google translate is telling the truth and porcheria means 'nonsense', and not 'the solid waste of a bull'.
4. From all the fanfiction I've read, I'm guessing that 'brother' is 'fratello'. This correct?

Also, if there are different ways to express hatred in Italian, I want the most hurtful way for 1. If it helps, it's Romano talking.

Thank you!

Re: Italian beta \o/

[identity profile] fanfaluche.livejournal.com 2010-05-22 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry it took me a while ;A;

1. "Ti odio, bastardo! Ti odio! Ti odio, ti odio, ti-"
2. I'd say "Ah" instead of "Uh". Umh is ok :D!
3. Porcheria umh. I wouldn't use that word for bullshit, I'd go more for "stronzata" ("stronzate", if you're using plural). It's more vulgar, but you don't really use "porcheria" for 'bullshit' here! Porcheria is more used to describe something VERY messy or screwd up.
4. Fratello is indeed correct! Fratellino is little brother, if it can be any help :)

About way of expressing hatred in Italian.. I think "Ti detesto" can be another way to say "I hate you". More spiteful. So it would be "Ti detesto, bastardo! [..]" and so on! Bastardo is alreadt pretty strong word in Italian so I wouldn't change it. Maybe you can strenghten it, by saying "brutto bastardo" (damn bastard).

I hope this helped, if you have any other question go ahead!

2. "Non gli ho detto nulla."
3. "Ha in mano la mia scarpa e tu stai piangendo. Che cosa gli hai detto?"

Here you are ♥

If you're still offering help that would be amazing ;w; I need a few things for Romano;;;

"Calm down, asshole, you're going to make it worse."
"Lovi, you don't get it, he...."
"I know what he did, baby, but that doesn't mean you can make yourself sick over this shit."
"It's a perfect God damn reason."
"Gilbert, shut the fuck up before I knock you out. ...No, that was not a sex offer."
"...Are you sure? It sounded like one...."
"...Again: shut the fuck up, asshole."

...;w; Thank you in advance;;; *hopes that isn't too much* orz

"of undying"...recaptcha, do you support non-nations now too =o?!

No problem for me *3*

"Calmati, stronzo, peggiorerai le cose."
"Lovi, non capisci, lui..."
"Lo so cos'ha fatto, tesoro, ma non significa che tu debba sentirti male per questa merda."
"È una ragione più che sufficiente, dannazione." *
"Gilbert, chiudi quella cazzo di bocca prima che ti stenda. ... No, non era una proposta sessuale."
"... Sei sicuro? Lo sembrava..."
"... Di nuovo: chiudi quella cazzo di bocca, stronzo."

* took some liberty witht this because there's no lit. translation. It's translated more or less like this "It's a more than valid reason, dammit". Tell me if you prefer something stronger ><;

Sorry for the late answer!

"Divertiti con lo stupido testa di patata". (i changed "potato" with "potato head" because in italian sounds a bit silly since potato is an eufemism for vagina |D;;;)

I have a quick cultural question.

If Italy were to say "Bentornato!" to Germany when Germany arrived at his house to visit (assuming they are lovers in the context of the story, but Germany does not live there), would that make any sense? Could it be used in that way to imply that Italy thinks Germany "belongs" in his house, or to imply that he visits regularly? Or would it sound inappropriate, even for a character like Italy?

If "bentornato" doesn't work in that context, what else could Italy use to greet Germany that would imply a deep affection?
