Awkward [1/2]

I’m no good at writing smut so um I basically cut it out. I’m so sorry if this wasn’t what you wanted but I loved the prompt and wanted to write something for it. Also Sweden speaks full sentences because I’m no good writing him otherwise. Besides him and Finland have been together for awhile so he’s comfortable around Finland? Also sorry if Finland comes off like a girl I just figured he would find the situation both funny and mortifying but treating it as funny if easier.

They both stared at each other, almost locked into a contest. Sweden’s face was unmoving and though he was trying Finland was fighting back giggles and losing. It wasn’t long before he was laughing. As soon as he felt okay he would look back up and see Sve’s un-amused face, which just set him off again. It wasn’t long before Sweden was smiling at Finland.

“You must admit that was funny.” Finland managed to choke out.

“How so?” Sweden asked, but his smile gave him away.

“Out of all the other nations we picked him.” A slight pause to steady his voice, “And we both said it. At the same time. Awkward? Absolutely. Down right amusing? I’ll have to also say yes. And at least I don’t have to feel bad that I yelled the wrong name because you did it too.” He could see that Sweden was still blushing from the incident and he had a feeling his face was also red.

“It’s a pity it ruined the mood.” Sweden shook his head and reached out to grab Finland, bringing him closer so that they were lying side by side. “But this works too.” He cuddled closer, hoping the pink in his checks had subsided.

“I love you.” Sweden whispered softly.

“I know.” Finland responded. “I love you too. I…didn’t mean it.”

It was Sweden’s turn to assure the other nation. “I know. I didn’t either. It just kind of came out.”

“I’m sure if we didn’t have to go to the meeting and see him with his shirt off…how did that happen anyways?”

“Hungary.” Sweden answered and Finland laughed.

“That makes so much sense. But I mean he’s so sexy with his shirt off.”

“And in general.” Sweden added. “We still have to go to the meeting tomorrow.” It was an afterthought reminder.

“We’re going to have to see him.”

“I’m sure it will be less awkward then this was.” Finland wasn’t sure if Sweden was trying to reassure him or himself with those words. “Though it would be nice if we had time to get over and forget this.”

“I don’t think we’re going to forget this for awhile.”

“I would agree with you there.”

“So how long before we can think about having sex without thinking of him?” Finland asked and Sweden laughed. “I figure it happened we should move past it.”

“I agree with you.”

“I’m glad that we both have an interest in the same person. It would have been more awkward if we both said different names.”

“You find the oddest silver linings.” Sweden pointed out an amused smile on his lips.

“I figure it’s that or be more embarrassed that I called out the wrong name.” Finland continued not really sure how to handle the situation before them. “I mean he’s nice to look at but I really only care for you Sev.”

“I care for you too. You know that.”

“Never speak of this again?”

“Agreed.” Sweden pulled Finland closer to him and Finland cuddled up wrapping his arms around Sweden. “Night Fin.”

“Night Sev.”

“Love you.”

“Love you more.”

In the morning they both got up and dressed, ready to brave the day ahead of them. The meetings tended to be long affaires to begin with and now they would have to avoid him. Putting last night’s incident out of his mind, Finland joined Sweden for breakfast with the other Nordics. They normally headed towards the meeting together. There was the normal morning banter and talk about how boring the meeting was going to be. Especially since it was the Mediterranean nations turn to present. He caught Sweden’s eye and he knew what the other nation was thinking. There would be no way to avoid looking at him now.
