Your Denmark ranks at the very highest, my most beloved representation of Denmark in this fandom, in the sense that he's just so real. OP is also a psychology student, and I am giddy with how their behavior is so well explained, supported and carried out. Poor Matthias with such a shitty doctor. Well, shitty in demeanor and client handling, but damn, the psychoanalysis. It was, in fairness, rather spot on. Be still, my beating heart. Characterizations, along with plot, are what I most look for, and can I please just offer gifts and roses at your feet for this gorgeous fill?
I especially love the dynamics between Denmark and Norway. Denmark's actions -- still projecting at most, if not placing Norway in this high, untouchable pedestal, speaks a lot about how fucked up he is, and it is beautiful. But he's seriously trying to be the older brother he had wanted when he was growing up, and it's sweet. ;u;
Norway, too, in that he's such a snarky brat, but he's still a child.He's not so angsty or melodramatic, or even as the difficult coldhearted person he's often depicted as, but just a troubled person who's experienced a lot and way more mature for his age. Furthermore, he has a heart that's softening up to Denmark and it's filling me with so much glee. I'm waiting to see whether or not Denmark's allusions to innocent, idyllic and happy childhoods will transcend into actual liking for Norway, and not just what Norway represents for him.
Speaking of their dynamics, what I most like is how this doesn't come out as creepy at all. It's mind-numbing sweetness and twisted love and crap, because Matthias knows it's wrong to lust after an 11-year-old kid who's supposed to be his new little brother. It's the kind of introspection I would read and reread over and over again because it's too awesome. I applaud you, author!anon, and this fill that has so much content and yet is written in such a cracky, well-thought of and entertaining narrative deserves all the love in the DenNor side of things ♥♥.
