There are good reasons Canada gets confused for America. Canada gets most of his culture from America. America's his favourite trading partner. Undefended border is long, and undefended. And most people who aren't North American might think a Canadian is American at first. Canada doesn't hate his brother for these things, but he might get antagonistic and passive aggressive. Let's suppose one of the more passive aggressive things Canada does to piss off America is to date people who America would Greatly Prefer, geopolitically speaking, he didn't date. Case in point, all those times he's suspiciously super close to Cuba.

I'd like to see how Canada manages to finagle Russia into this for the sole express purpose of pissing off America. Canada's lust/love for Russia is entirely nonexistent (at least to start, I certainly don't mind seeing it evolve into something more!) and he is literally only doing this as a giant "fuck you, eh?"

Russia is either in on the joke or not, author's choice - but either way, he certainly doesn't mind pissing off America either. The guy's got like fifty years experience doing that. ;D

The eventual outcome of the "relationship" and who thinks what of the other after like three months is entirely up to authornon.

Bonus: Ukraine isn't in on the joke... but Belarus is.
