Italy and Germany- Trains

Possibly off request. The other one's more on.

'I love trains,' Italy said, watching the scenery pass outside the window. 'Do you remember how long it took to get anywhere before they were invented?'

Germany really couldn't say. While he had travelled by horse a few times during his childhood, he couldn't remember that being noticeably slower than going by train. Of course, most of his memories of childhood transportation usually involved falling asleep on his caretakers lap not long into the trip, and getting woken again when they reached their destination. 'Well, I much prefer going by train than having you drive us.' He finally answered.

Italy looked away from the window to grin at Germany, seemingly ignoring his comment. 'Don't you just love the wind in your hair? If these windows weren't locked in place, you could just lean right out and watch the countryside go past.'

Germany had to resist the urge to grab Italy and pull him away from the window, which he looked eager to lean out of despite the thick glass in the way.

'I was so excited by the new trains that I got so much railway I could cross from Udine to Cuneo without having to stop travelling by train! When I got my first train, I rode it until Mr. Austria came and dragged me off.

'Weren't you excited by your first train ride?'

Germany smiled again. 'Yes, I was.' Germany remembered holding Prussia's hand as they stood on the station and watch the train pull in, blowing steam over the gathered passengers. How he was hopping up and down in excitement and Prussia was laughing at his enthusiasm, and allowed him to feel important by holding the tickets. 'It was very interesting to learn how the machinery worked.' Once he had finished running around the carriages and examining everything, he had spent quite an afternoon quizzing the engineers on the mechanics of the engine.

Italy laughed. 'Ve~ Germany's always been serious!'

Germany glared at the laughing Italian. ‘There is nothing wrong with being serious. Your current problems have been caused by your frivolous attitude. If you were half as productive as I have been then-' Germany was cut off when Italy threw himself into hugging Germany's neck.

'Ve~ you need to lighten up, Germany! You’re just a little baby nation! Go and have fun!'

Germany pushed Italy off himself and refused to enter into conversation with the other nation for the rest of the journey.
