The sun wasn’t even up as Emily F. Jones was up and out in the city towards the Dunkin Doughnuts that was only a six block walk from her apartment.
Well her, her two sisters, and her brother.
Except not really her two sisters as one sister and the other was a ‘cousin’ as well as her ‘brother’ was also a ‘cousin’ while he was really her lover.
However that last part was not for public knowledge.
She whistled slightly as she bounced down the sidewalk. Some people heading towards their works gave her weird looks. She wasn’t a morning person, or at least used not to be, but after not sleeping at all for the better part of a century and with the energy of all the people in New York running through her veins stopped her from ever getting tired or exhausted.
She was after all the personification of the state of New York.
Her sister? The personification of the state of Pennsylvania. Her ‘cousin’? The personification of the state of Virginia. And the other ‘cousin’? The personification of the state of Alaska.
And there was still forty-six other states to go through. Each one had a personification as well.
Emily finally reached her destination and took her place at the end of the line. It was still rather early in the morning so she was out within minutes with four cups of coffee in hand.
She quickly ran the six blocks and balancing the tray of coffees in her hand she opened the doors and allowed herself back into the apartment.
Virginia, or rather known as Ginerva to the public, was already in the kitchen making breakfast while Alaska, known as Alex, was setting the table. His eyes raised to hers and his brightened when he saw her.
Or the coffee. Either way it was towards her.
She grinned and set the coffee on the table and quickly kissed his lips. “Morning.” she said.
