"Germany, Germany!" shouted an anxious Italy as he saw the other man inside the world meeting room. Italy thought that he would get their early and wait for him since he was so anxious, but the other man was already there. Italy supposed that he would never be more on time than Ludwig.
Feliciano ran toward the man and when he saw how he looked, he pulled him into a tight embrace. Ludwig had bags under his eyes that gave away his lack of sleep, and in addition to that his skin looked sallow, as though he were the one that was ill instead of his brother. Germany did not even respond to Italy's hug like he normally would have (with embarrassed shouting), he just sat there. Italy felt as though his heart was breaking.
"Germany... What is it. What's wrong with Prussia?" he asked. Other people began filtering into the meeting room. Switzerland, Austria and a few other early birds. Germany glanced at them before looking at Italy, andFeliciano could see the sadness in his eyes as he contemplated how to answer the question.
"He's..." he trailed off for a bit before clearing his throat, "He's very sick. They will need to keep him at the hospital for awhile." Germany looked away from Italy and back down to the table.
Italy was scared, "Whats wrong?" he asked again. Looking for more details.
"His body is attacking itself and his organs are starting to fail."
Italy sat down in his seat next to Germany and put his hands over his face. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder and gentle but concerned voice ask, "Italy-san, what is wrong?"
"Oh, Japan!" he said standing up suddenly and hugging him as well. Japan was taken aback.
"I-I-Ita-"
"Prussia's sick Japan!"
"What?" asked Japan, thrown off by the answer, "Is it serious?" he asked, looking to Germany.
The German man nodded his head once in confirmation, "Japan, Italy... I would appreciate it if you kept this quiet. I don't think brother would appreciate everyone knowing." he told them. He didn't even want to tell me... he finished in his head.
"Germany-san, I understand, but should you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." said Japan. They weren't allies anymore, but Japan still considered both Italy and Germany to be his friends.
"Oh Japan! Thank you so much!" said Italy loudly hugging him tighter before finally letting him go, much to Japan's appreciation.Kiku bowed slightly to both Italy and Germany before walking off to take his seat. Italy sat down and Germany looked around, noting Austria looking at him questioningly from further down the table, but saying nothing. Romano, meanwhile, was glaring at Germany for somehow upsetting his brother as he walked up to the table and took a seat next toFeliciano. However, he was stopped from asking the Potato bastard what he'd done when Feliciano threw his arms around him too. Japan noted from his seat that this was likely to be a repeat occurrence throughout the day.
Just as Roman was about to cuss Italy out for startling him like that, his brother said softly, "Fratello, never leave me." into his ear, shocking South Italy.
"Of course I won't, dammit." he finished, embracing North Italy in return before throwing a glare at an unnoticing Germany. This was all that potato bastard's fault somehow, he knew it. Italy sniffled and pulled out of the hug, looking at his brother with a smile of gratitude. That's when Spain walked in.
"Oh, look at that! How cute, my little tomato!" he said seeing the two in a brotherly embrace.
"God dammit!" shouted Romano before running in the other direction. Italy blinked once or twice before deciding not to think about that too much and sit down, but one look at Germany made him think of Prussia and his heart ached for Ludwig. He never wanted to face what Germany was going through, and it was with a loud sniffle and a swipe at his teary eyes that a bickering America and England entered the room.
