Op says come back

Anon if you're still out there. I answered you. It's been a week and no one's filled yet. Does that mean you might fill?

Op apologizes and slinks away to a corner. Op is new to requesting...

Ignore that other anon, newbies might not know this, but fillers often 'claim' requests but never fill. It happens all the time.

Other times, it just takes the filler a while before they get it done. If it's for a longer work, some fillers like to finish all of it before they start posting.

Ah, ok. Op didn't get a reply, so she didn't know.

*the anon who promised to fill after a week*

I'm sorry if someone thought I was being rude or that I forgot about the request, but I did promise and I will fill it. Actually, I have already started making a draft, so no worries. Anon was just terribly busy these days - the uni can get very tedious - and I'm burning the candle at both ends every day, but I have time this weekend, I promise. Sorry if my absence offended anyone, anons...

OP is happy. Op actually thought the rude comment was directed towards her...It's ok if uni's intervening Anon, OP understands...OP would have liked a short comment saying that you were busy with uni if it wasn't too much trouble though.

a general tip for op

Because I think you missed the drama ... it's probably best not to constantly ask where your potential filler is, especially after such a short amount of time. I remember a lot of anger about a year ago, where writer anons felt underappreciated and like requesters were constantly demanding things from them. It's great you're excited by a potential fill, but most writers take some time to write and will get to it on their own time (which might be weeks or months from now).

And as someone said, a lot of requests get claimed but never filled. I've been here since part 1: all my requests were claimed, maybe 3 got filled.

Ah, thank you for filling OP in....Op had seen some stuff like her question on here before though...what was different about those requests....?

The "it's been a week and no one's filled yet" sounds demanding, although I'm guessing there's some context behind it. But in terms of the kinkmeme, a week is a very very short timeframe since a lot of fills take weeks if not longer to get fills. Most writers put a lot of time into their works.

It's fine to get in touch with authors, it's just how you phrase it :)

*soon-to-be-filler again*

good to know that op isn't angry - I didn't comment because I didn't want to spam the post with unnecessary comments, but I'll definitely fill it since I never abandoned a claim on the meme.

I completely agree with the anon with the tip, and it's awful that people willing to fill requests had to endure such things - they are doing it for the others after all, and without any kind of compensation for it. But it doesn't mean that I don't understand you, op - I know you've been excited about the fill.

Well, without further ado - I shall start writing the first part tonight :)

Thank you, but seriously if uni's taking up most of your time, concentrate on that. Op is willing to wait. I can use that time to build a time machine that'll get me to the future...:D
