Help! I Can't Language Good!

Do you need some help with another language?
Do you know how to read / write a language that isn't modern English, and want to help your fellow anon?
If so, this is the place for you.

How this works:

You don't need to be anon when you are offering language aid.
When offering language aid, post a comment saying what language you will helping out with
- Put the language you want to help out in in the subject line
Only one language per thread please. "I can help out with French and Vietnamese," for example is wrong. French and Vietnamese should go into two separate comments.
If you are requesting spelling, semantic or grammar aid in another language you must remain Anonymous.
You may post a comment requesting language aid, providing you do it in anon mode and there isn't already a thread going on for that language.
If there is already an aid thread for your desired language going, don't start a new comment asking for help unless you posted to that existing thread, and haven't received a response in 7 days
Please stick to the topic at hand (language aide). This isn't the place for chit chat.
If you have had experience with a particularly good online language resource that actually works than feel free to link it here as a reply to the first comment.
- In the subject line, state what language it is and try to describe what the resource does.
- Links to resources go in the comment area.

Just a note. If you do have phrases in other languages in your fills, it's only polite to include a translation in English at the bottom of your fill somewhere.

I know there's several people offering help with Spanish - is anyone familiar with Mexican Spanish though? I know there are several differences (my family on my grandfather's side is from Mexico, but I'm a mongrel only know a bit of Chicano slang).

A few of the phrases I need:

1) "How dare you! I trusted you!"
2) "Look what you've done to me! Look!"
3) "I did not start this war, America, but I will end it!"
4) "You are no longer my brother."
5) "My (Texas), it bleeds..." (not sure what the Mexican name for Texas was, but I'm looking into it)
6) "Four hundred. Four hundred men died for this. They were people too, Alfred. Others will wait for them - their mothers, their fathers, their spouses, their sons... but they will never come back. You took them away from their families. You took them away from me. How dare you..."
7) "If you hadn't come, this would never have happened."
8) "(Sweet Virgin Mary)... forgive me what I'm about to do..."
9) "It's over, America."
10) "Will you kill me now, for all I've done? I don't regret it."
11) "I still believe I was right."
12) "I think we're more alike than we want to admit."
13) "I will go now, America. You may have won, but some part of you will always belong to me."
14) "...I forgive you..."

They don't have to be exact translations, as long as the overall message is the same. I'm going for emotional impact. It also assumes a previously close family/friend relationship between the two.

Any insults or other incidental slang is also welcome.

Due to my love of reading older books, I can help not only with modern Swedish but a bit more old fashioned (stodgy) Swedish. Can also help with some dialects like Västgötskan, and with culture bits. Also shorthand, bureaucratic and swearing/insulting.

I'm writing a Repo! parody fic (well...will be) and have to tweak a few things for the characters. One of them is Chromaggia, the Italian song Blind Mag sings near the end. (An equally haunting Hungarian hymn or poem would do just as well.)

English:

Yaah, another British native if anyone wishes for British English spelling, slang or other assorted goodies...

I also speak fluent Welsh (southern dialect) and thought I might as well offer translation in that since nobody else on this thread has so far and it's always nice to have a little variety.

FYI, Malay and Indonesian have the same base language (being part of the Malay Archipelago) though the dialects are highly different. Also, there is a chance that the new Asian country will be Indonesia (or Thailand - doesn't share the same base language, but they share a border with Malaysia so people from south Thailand speak Malay too).

In case you're interested, the general characteristics of Malaysian/Indonesian/Thai people are that they are super chilled out/mellow nearly all the time, they enjoy eating good food (because they produce good food), they have gorgeous places and beaches for tourism, and they highly recognise Caucasians because Whites = SOURCE OF INCOME.

Specialising in everyday conversational informal Tagalog, honorifics (we have em too!), respectful Tagalog (the kind you would use towards elders and superiors), swear words and insults.

I'm not the best at deeper Tagalog (the kind you see in older literature and drama genre movies)...but I'll try.

So, I figured I'd do the best I could and offer you my help, just in case anyone ever needs a beta for the Cheyenne language. Maybe for, uhhh, a little baby Alfred from before European contact? Something?
However, I feel obliged to warn you that I only know this by listening to relatives, and am much, much, MUCH better at understanding than at speaking it, so I'm afraid I'm limited to basic phrases for now.

Ok, so...for those of you who want to write Scotland and don't want to make him sound like a drunk pirate, I'm a native Scot here who is willing to help with British English, all regions of Scots dialect, British slang, Scottish slang and Scottish Gaelic (I'm not totally fluent in the Gaelic but I've grown up hearing it spoken and I have a good idea of the basics and also authentic pronunciation).

I'm also pretty good with Irish slang/dialect and Ulster Scots (a dialect spoken in some parts of Northern Ireland). I'm also familiar with a *tiny* bit of Irish Gaelic, but only the absolute minimal basics.

Also, any cultural/historical/political aspects of Scotland, Ireland and England and the UK in general, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand with. ^_^

Not sure if this is allowed, but I need a translation for "Objection!" in as many different languages as possible.

So I see there are already three french betas, but what the heck, just throwing my help out there: standard (parisian) french (I'm a native speaker) but I can also do belgian french if you want, as I come from a belgian family :D
Also, slang (or even banlieue!french, if you feel like making France talk like a... well, the term is infamous in France since our beloved president's use of it; I hear it is translated in English as "riff-raff" ^^).
I put priority on making the French sound natural, so it may not be a direct translation.

Since I started seeing a lot of fills involving Mexico I offer you help with your Mexican slang needs ^^

It's not very likely, but just in case anons need some help with Filipino I'd be willing to provide. However, if you need really, really deep Tagalog you might need to wait a couple of days; I'm not the best at it.

I'm from south america, but I know enough slag of Spain (if not, I can always ask) and of other spanish-speakers countries ^^

I know there are more, but one more can't hurt, right? Keep in mind I could take a day or so to answer, but you'll get an answer for sure.

Ask me anything! Also, a quick recap of stuff you may need:

- Good morning! = buongiorno is used for morning and afternoon, buonasera for evening and night, buonanotte only right before going to sleep, and it's a bit more 'intimate' that the other two expressions. If you're not sure about the hour of the day, go with salve, it's a catch-all. As good-bye, you can use all of the above expression (except Salve) plus arrivederci, a bit formal. Ciao is absolutely informal and works both as greeting and good-bye, too.

- To apologize, you'd say Mi dispiace (you can add a tanto as a reinforcer). Perdonami means 'forgive me'. You can use pardon pretty much in the same way you'd use it in English (like, when walking in a crowded room).

- 'Please' it's per favore. 'Thank you' is grazie (you can add a tante as a reinforcer here too). 'You're welcome' is prego, which also is the answer to pardon (like, in the crowded room above, you'd say prego to the person saying pardon as a mean to say 'ok, I'm stepping aside so you can pass, apologize accepted').Prego is also used, for example, when stepping aside to let a person go before you in a line for whatever reason.

- Italian adjectives are modified according to sex (in Italian all words are either feminine or masculine with no exceptions) and number. So, if Romano is insulting Spain he'd call him bastardo, if he's insulting Hungary he'd call her bastarda, if he's insulting the German Brothers, they're bastardi, if he's insulting Seychelles and Belgium then they're bastarde. The rules for modification are different depending on declension class etc., so you'd better ask me or find a good online grammar.
Also, in Italian adjectives usually go after the name, not before (there are exceptions).

- Italians have a 'polite pronoun' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%E2%80%93V_distinction) , which is the lei ('she') in the North and Center and the voi (plural of 'you') in the South.

- Pet peeve: capisci? means 'do you understand?', and that's the correct form of it, unless you're using the above polite address form, so it's either capisce or capite. No other form is correct to mean what you mean.

If anyone speaks these languages, I'd like a translation of the Lord's Prayer in both Armenian and Georgian (Yeah, OCs, I know).

The only other thing I really need is the Georgian equivalent of "asshole" or "motherfucker", so...

There was a post from someone else a while ago, but I'm free to help with American English. I also live in Texas, which is one of the more common states to pop up around the meme, so if you want help with that...?

Since Austrian-German is just a little more different than Standard German (mostly in terminology and pronounciation), I'm offering my help to anyone who wants to make their Austria sound as Austrian as possible!
I'm most well versed in the Alpine dialect, but Viennese is fine too.
