On a hopefully lighter note: Fillers, what comments have you gotten on fills here that you really liked? The ones that made you go 'yay, someone gets it!', or that made you laugh, or that gave you good ideas, or that were just really complimentary and made you feel more confident as a writer?

My favourite comment ever was on a fic with Polamd as the main character - an anon who liked it finished with a side question in Polish. I didn't answer, because I don't speak a word of Polish. But I was deeply flattered that they found my setting so convincing they'd assumed I did. I felt like my research had really paid off. So, mysterious Polish anon, if you're still out there, thank you!

ALL of the comments on my current WIP. I have never felt so much appreciation for a fill before. It makes me want to sit down and write it all the time =D

People saying that my take on a character's mind was interesting and refreshing and asking for a sequel. It was especially nice considering that it was a porny fic.

All the OP's comments from my last (now finished) WIP just made me feel so fuzzy and loved inside. The other comments were generally wonderful as well, but the OP's really made me so happy. I was so glad they were enjoying my writing to the degree they were, and they were just generally sweet and oh so adorable.

On the fill I'm working on right now (well, hypothetically...I haven't been able to update for about 2 months now orz damn you RL and writer's block) someone posted on how they really liked the atmosphere I was setting up; the situation being subtle and eerie rather than being overly DOOM AND GLOOM like it could be. It made me so happy that I was accomplishing that, since it was my goal.

I should get back to work on that *kicked*

I wrote a Bad Touch Trio fic once and I got a lot of pretty comments that liked my characterization of them, especially for Spain. It made me really happy.

Another fill got a lot of really meaningful/analytical comments about character and loneliness and what it means to be alive and fjsl;ada I loved them all. It was kind of inspiring to see the reaction that'd been elicited, if that makes sense.

I started a fill that begins with tentacle porn and someone commented that the fact that I made them interested in tentacle porn was a 'testimony' of my 'talent'.

I've never had someone use 'talent' in my a comment on one of my fics before. It made me feel all kids of wonderful. It was one of the shortest comments I ever got but... I'm probably reading too much into it, it was probably an offhand word choice, but it made me feel really good.

Now I'm scared I won't be able to write the rest of the fic orz

Someone commented that my fill got them into a pairing they hadn’t thought about before, and that they were going to write their own fic for them. It made me feel flattered that I inspired someone to do that with my writing. It also made me feel happy, since it’s my OTP, and also a rarepair, so there’s not a lot about them.

I adore analytical comments, and all the different ways people read my stories. ♥ The one that makes me grin like an idiot is the anon who pulled a feminist reading out of my cracky-porny one-shot, and implicitly compared it to a Georgia O'Keeffe painting. I never intended that, but I can completely see it and love the anon for their comment.

I'm an odd duck, I know. ^^;

My two favorite comments would probably have to be:

1. A semi-coherent French-Canadian anon who commented on a finished multi-part story. Just the whole comment was incoherent and in broken English in places and was adorable. The fact that they commented four months after I finished and despite the story already having a shitload of comments was really touching for some reason.

and:

2. Every single comment I've received so far on my newest WIP. I was a bit wary of posting it, but these comments have all been enthusiastic, encouraging, and helpful, and they've really eased my mind about this fill. I hope I can continue to receive these sorts of comments as I continue to update.

I wrote a minifill once, so packed full of local jokes that I was half sure no one would get any of it. But they did and they laughed and I was happy.

See also: pretty much all comments I've received ever.

I love comments that are more than a single line. I appreciate when somebody takes the time to refer to concrete details (dialogues, characterization, moments, descriptions etc.) about the fill, which means they have read it carefully and it's helpful for me to know what really works in my writing. I try to give long comments when I like a fic, as those are the kind I'd like to receive!
And when somebody comments they were moved by some part of it, that completely melts me! ^_^

The one where someone commented on how I didn't make the characters seem like bricks. It was my first fill on the meme and it made me so happy! The formatting was horrible in that one

I wrote a human AU once that was so well received it made me cry. Anons went out of their way to tell me what they'd liked about my fill, what had touched them in it, what passages were their favourites, and throughout it all they were so nice and happy it made me want to write more for the pairing. It wasn't a particularly funny month for me in rl, too, so logging in and finding that people I'd never met across the world had taken the time to leave me a few words and say they'd loved my story was a real, beautiful treat.

Rock on, meme &hearts

I have one WIP that has the most amazing OP one could possibly hope for. She comments on every single one of my chapters with long thoughtful analyses and responses, sometimes longer than my actual chapters! She is positively superhuman. :D Never been so happy to fill for someone.

I was writing a WIP (well now it is) that only got to one part before life took over and the fill was pushed to the very back of my concern.

I recently found the link to it again through an index and found more comments than expected (er more for my standards that is xD) one of which was left 3 months after I posted it, lamenting the death of the fill.
I am currently attempting to go back to it now though, I really didn't want the fill to die, it was my first WIP :'<
oh god wat

I once got a comment saying that an Englishwoman and a German just got finished reading my fic aloud (it was England/Germany) to a group of Poles and it rocked my socks. Awesome international fans aside, I never thought the fic was good enough to deserve a dramatic reading omg.

I would have loved to hear that reading

Anon is intrigued

My favorite comment was this one that was very lengthy and this anon told me that my fill changed her perception of life around, and how she was going to live her life to the fullest because of the story. It made me feel so accomplished. :)

I also love the OP of a long, long WIP I'm writing, who seems very happy with the fill, who reassures me even when I think my chapters suck. xD

My first fill ever, I referenced Monty Python without even meaning to and a commenter noticed it. It made me laugh irl.

My all time favourite comment was for a fill that I did featuring Australia, an anon commented and said that I'd created a new fangirl for my country (I am Australian) and that they should give out awards for that sort of things. Just so much love for that mysterious anon~.

And all the comments that I get telling me that I made someone cry, I love those so much~

On one of my WIPs all the comments rock my socks. I get a lot for every update even though I only update one comment space at a time and nearly all the anons mention something they like or something they are looking forward to. Especially the OP.

On another WIP, the OP made a comment about one of the characters causing his own mess through insecurity and paranoia and they actually got it. Sometimes I feel like I fail at subtle writing but the OP got it!

Then on a completed fill of mine, an anon commented every update with a hugely long comment everytime. Their comments made my day especially since they weren't such a fan of the main pairing and only tolerated the main side pairing. Apparently I convinced them of how the main side could work.

Normally I adore all the comments I got because that meant someone thought my fill was worth enough to take the time to comment.

I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT when people tell me I write people in-character. Especially when I gave myself the task of making Belarus get over her affections for Russia and switch to America instead, I was overjoyed that people said I made it seem believable.

Also, when anyone quotes a part in their comment, that makes me happy because I feel like they were paying special attention.

One of my favorite comments ever was on my sequel fill for the Financial Crisis Gangbang where Native America takes a roaring rampage of revenge. The commentor was so warm and had a few questions for me, but I especially liked how they organized it with dashes and had separate paragraphs for their predictions of the fate of the remaining perpertrators. Overall, it looked like they put a lot of thought into it, so I rewarded them with a preview of a future chapter.

I had a comment in which anon told me my fill had made anon feel every emotion there was to feel. That made me feel wonderful.

One of my first fills was an AU with self-harming Sealand, and I ended up getting a bunch of comments from former self-harming anons and anons with self-harming friends who said that the story was realistic. One person even called it cathartic. I found it really genuinely touching.

Almost all of my favorite comments came from the same fill. There was one anon that said my ending seemed like some Ai Yazawa would right and i started jumping up and down and babbling to my friend I was on the phone with. I had someone else say that it was his/her favorite fill and I was beyond flatter.

In another fill I wrote one anon said I reminded him/her of Haruki Murakami and I nearly melted. Yeah when I get compared to a person who's writing style and story telling I like I just die from joy.

I couldn't think of any, but I looked back over a few fills, and found one that said they'd read a story within a story to a nephew. That made me so happy!
